I tried to look at this book from a beginner’s lens but even with this perspective, I would not recommend this book. Managing personal finances and investing shouldn’t be difficult or exclusionary, and their new manifesto Girls Just Wanna Have Funds is proving it really doesn’t have to be. In the same vein as achievable, don’t set yourself up for failure by setting wild goals you know you won’t be able to achieve. t’s important to find a balance, where your goals are both challenging and realistic, so be honest with yourself about what obstacles you can overcome and what you can manage – but don’t undersell yourself!If you had seen me in my early twenties you would be like, ‘Biatch, please’. I was the last person you would ever think would write a book on the topic of money.

Finally, your goals should have a deadline. Make sure you set a specific time by which a certain goal needs to be achieved, so you can break down your progress into quarterly, monthly and weekly goals in the lead-up to that date. Co-author Camilla Falkenberg said: “Women are interested in investing - they just don’t feel included in the financial world as it is today. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to empower women and write an uplifting guide we wish we had when we started investing.” Overall, the advice was awful. The structure of the book was worse, they consistently gave advice before exploring the underlying concepts which made it hard to follow.
