About this deal

In Generations I, III, and VII, a Trainer at the Cinnabar Gym mentions that Blaine became a Fire-type expert after seeing a Moltres. As suggested by the Pokédex entries, the three legendary birds appear to be embodiments of seasons, Moltres represents spring, while Articuno and Zapdos represent winter and summer, respectively. Autumn is however unrepresented.

In The Search for the Legend, Butch and Cassidy attempted to capture a weakened Moltres at One Island, but they were unsuccessful. After recovering its strength, it was about to battle Silver, who had dreamed of battling it since his youth, but the battle was interrupted by Mt. Ember's eruption. The user lashes out to vent its frustration toward the target. If the user's stats were lowered during this turn, the power of this move is doubled. While Chilling Reign doesn't necessarily have as high value pulls as, say, Shining Fates, I think this is one of the most impressive expansions in a long time in terms of art direction. Even the simply okay cards, like Galarian Articuno V, look fantastic, while standouts like Shadow Rider Calyrex V and Galarian Moltres V are some of the most beautiful cards ever printed. Collectors are going to love this set, so make sure you find the cards you want while you can. When Moltres flaps its flaming wings, they glimmer with a dazzling red glow. This legendary Pokémon scatters embers with every flap of its wings. It is a thrilling sight to behold. If Miracle Eye is used by an opponent or this Pokémon is given a Ring Target, the effectiveness of Psychic-type moves is 1×. Moltres is a legendary bird Pokémon that can control fire. If injured, it is said to dip its body in the molten magma of a volcano to burn and heal itself. Moves marked with a double dagger (‡) can only be bred from a Pokémon who learned the move in an earlier generation.

Moltres seems to be based on the legends of firebirds such as the phoenix, the Slavic firebird, or the Bennu. It may also be based on the Vermilion Bird of the Chinese Four Symbols, which represents the element of fire and the direction of south. In addition, it may be based on a heron because of their similarities in body shape.A Moltres appeared in a fantasy in the Fortune Teller book in The Fortune Hunters. James also dressed up as one. NA: This Fire/Flying-type Pokémon is one of three Legendary birds in the Kanto region. It will use Fly when called into a Smash Bros. battle, flapping its orange wings and sending fire out around it. Getting hit hurts and could launch you so far, you'd make Moltres jealous. That isn't a good thing... Moltres, a one-of-a-kind Legendary Flame Pokémon. So powerful, its fire dust can bring early spring to wintery lands. In Generation V, if this Pokémon is given an Iron Ball, the effectiveness of Ground-type moves is 1×.

The user summons a heavy rain that falls for five turns, powering up Water-type moves. It lowers the power of Fire-type moves. The user goes to sleep for two turns. This fully restores the user's HP and heals any status conditions. The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres. The user tells the target a secret, and the target loses its ability to concentrate. This lowers the target's Sp. Atk stat. To inflict massive damage, the user burns itself out. After using this move, the user will no longer be Fire type.Galarian Moltres debuted in HZ022. Liko, Roy, Captain Pikachu, Zirc, and Onia encountered and battled it in the Galar Mine, but were forced to run away due to its immense power. It is holding an ancient Poké Ball and is one of the Six Heroes. The user yells as if it's ranting about something, which lowers the Sp. Atk stats of opposing Pokémon.

The target is blown away, and a different Pokémon is dragged out. In the wild, this ends a battle against a single Pokémon. The target is scared off, and a different Pokémon is dragged out.
