So, if you’re a coffee drinker, or someone in your house is, then chances are you have a few of these empty coffee cans around the house.From bread pans and utensil holders to toys, planters, and even lamps and lanterns, we’re going to make good use of those empty plastic or metal coffee containers and turn that trash into treasure! Cold brew is a coarser ground coffee, extracted in cool water over an 18-24 hour period. Because the coffee grounds are not heated, some of the more bitter molecule are not released, giving cold-brewed coffee and entirely different flavor profile and overall sweeter, smoother taste. It is also less acidic and therefore easier on the stomach! You can drink your cold brew immediately after straining, or you can stash it in the refrigerator for a later time or to cool it down. This orange coffee recipe has been served in Vietnam for generations and it is called by many names.

To toast the pecans, in a dry skillet on medium-low heat, cook one tablespoon chopped raw pecans until they almost (but not quite!) start to brown. Your nose is the best indicator- as soon as you start to smell them, they are about finished. Iced coffee is typically strongly-brewed hot coffee, which is then poured over ice. Freshly brewed coffee does tend to be a strong drink which does not lend itself to being watered down. Instant works better as a more mild drink. But I don't drink instant in any form. It's so easy to just make your own with a cafetière (or many other methods), and there's no comparison. Or maybe you would prefer to use your empty coffee cans for organization and storage. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the mixture for brewing. In a jug you mix the 3 main ingredients, cover it and let it steep at room temperature for at least 16 hours or in the fridge for 24 hours. This type of coffee is usually less acidic but stronger. If you are doing a K-Cup, you will put the zest in a small metal strainer and put it over your coffee cup. Hit brew and that’s it!
