About this deal

This process will take a minute or two, but when it is done, your SD card should look something like this: Interface and Bluetooth interface with Bluetooth audio streaming. Only in combination with Driver’s Information System (9Q7)

Have very recently bought a 2016 A4 1.4tfsi Sport and am starting to pull my hair out with Audi Connect. As the car is secondhand the obligatory 3-month trial has run its course. Along with that, the SD card I gather is supposed to come with the car is missing. Car was bought from a non-Audi dealership who know nothing about the card. And I found the Audi MMI/SD system gives the most bizzare routes too frequently, wereas the free Waze or Google Maps are far better and will also route around current traffic dynamically and you get upto date maps always. Because I happen to have the Audi MMI/SD based maps, I use it sometimes to show an overview of a longer journey (according to Audi) just for the benefit of passengers who can see it and want to answer the 'are we nearly there yet?' question themselves ;-) Distinctly identify MMI 3G+, 3GP HDD navigation systems by inspecting the MMI Media version, which commences with HN+. Optimized for a Range of Audi Models: Simon here, new to the forum and new to being an Audi owner. Sorry to not come loaded with experience to share but hope on time to be able to learn and support in return. Once your SD card is loaded with the files and bundle, it is time to load it up in the car. therefore plug it into the SD1 port, go to MENU, Setup MMI, System update, SD1, and Start update; as the files are tiny, this will take under a minute but depending on how big your maps file was initially, it could take longer as it is overlaying the points of interest to the sat nav already in place.

I personally wouldn't bother with the SD card, after having the same consideration when I bought my latest Audi. Navigate effortlessly with support for multiple languages including English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Spanish. Guidance and Support: It has the RMC MMI which has the nav maps on an SD card. I didn't realise until after I took delivery that the SD card was missing and therefore the navigation wouldn't work. I would say on these more modern systems it can take a bit longer than the older systems to update maybe or it is an Audi thing. Next, select "Source," which will be your SD location. The computer will prompt you by NOT demarcating the option in the color grey.

Also trying to enter destination by voice is cumbersome I find with many confirmations required which need you to look at screen - which defeats the purpose of voice.

Aug 24, 2022 • 8 min read Before diving in, it is assumed that any changes you make to your car are at YOUR OWN RISK! Once you have verified you have the correct version of Audi MMI, the next step is to format an SD card as exFAT and copy the contents of the maps 7zip file. (Extract the 7zip to a folder and copy its contents to the SD card). Third generation MMI system including high resolution (400x240) 6.5” colour TFT display and two SD card readers (one of which I have looked around - and for SD card models - there is no other way but going through Audi - or getting a stand alone unit.
