Holy hell, I was not expecting things to get so steamy in this book but Meghan Quinn BROUGHT THE HEAT and honestly, I’m not mad about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So....I hated 80% of this book. The 20% I liked didn't justify me giving it any higher than 2 stars, but also some parts were so good I didn't think it deserved the 1 star I wanted to give it. Keller and Lilly are attracted to one another after only a couple of days but they fight it. You have to suspend your disbelief for this story. From the tiny royal island nation (somewhere between Scandinavia and England) to the American heiress and her wet t-shirt contests to the tension between Lilly and Keller even though they are supposedly putting the country at risk. The tension is really delicious though. Austin Lee, the Warriors’ rookie outfielder, finds himself right in the center of a blonde tornado called Molly. Her fiance died, he gave her the time and space to heal, but he always admired her from far away. Never in one million years did he believe he would be bedding the woman of his dreams and planning a future with her in the starring role as his leading lady.Royally Not Ready will absolutely end up on my physical book shelf at some point and I can’t wait to read more from this author. After finding out from a handsome stranger she’s a princess and heir to the throne of Torskethorpe, Lilly travels to the small island nation to learn about her ancestral country and go through princess training, similar to Mia Thermopolis (only Mia didn’t whine so much about it) I'm quite sure plenty of other readers will love this though, there is quite a lot that happens, it just wasn't for me.

The tension building is beautifully done and this book made it easy for me to say that I would like to read more from Meghan Quinn in the future. In this post I am doing a Royally Not Ready book review. This is the first book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn and after almost a full month of non stop dark romance I figured I needed a light hearted break with a Rom Com. This book was exactly what I needed. All in all, I’m immediately buying the illustrated hardcover to go on my shelf. And I’m adding this to my top 2023 reads list as well. Of course, I didn’t follow him. I might be up for a good time, but I’m also educated enough to know leaving with a stranger isn’t smart. Well, that’s until he mentioned my mom’s name. My mom who passed away several years ago.
