This is a lovely set! The architecture is beautiful, and I love the detail that's been included in both the interior and exterior of the set. Friends buildings sets this year have felt very similar to modular buildings, and I think it's great that the sets are including that level of detail. Those who bemoan Friends sets for having too much pink will again be disappointed, there's not much pink here." Do you mean that trolls will be disappointed because they can't complain? On the other side of the floor is a potter's wheel, with a nice little moving function. I like that the Friends designers always take the opportunity to add in moving functions into their sets. The Friends mission of diversity carries on, and I think Professor Béatrice is terrific! While the Friends have travelled as a group before, I believe this is the first subtheme that has featured each Friend doing their own thing. It's a great way to incorporate all those diverse new characters and explore new venues, such as Emma visiting Paris in this set. Adding the detail of having each Friend talk to another in their sets - such as Emma talking to Stephanie here - is a really nice way to tie things together.
The #41711 LEGO Friends Emma’s Art School comes with 844 pieces and features a three-story French-style building with a pleasing color-scheme and lovely details like the brush and pen over the entrance and the customizable panels with colorful LEGO DOTS tiles. The really should have designed the paint splatters on the sign so that the one next to "ART" didn't look like an F. Neat sewing machine; it's always fun when they find new uses for the ice skate piece. I love the functional potter's wheel.Like with the other school sets, Emma is talking to one of the other Friends on her tablet. In this case, she's talking with Stephanie, who looks like she's out on the waves in 41716 Stephanie's Sailing Adventure.
