The 2007 film Transformers was accompanied by one of the largest product blitzes in the history of the Transformers brand. The prominence of the movie allowed Hasbro to push the toy line to new levels of complexity and diversity. The entire mold also became a victim of counterfeiting, ranging from upscaled (and sometimes simpified) molds to high-quality clones. Several of his redecoes/retools below also suffers from this too. Another redeco of Deluxe-Class Dark of the Moon Prime, this release uses a darker grey, a less magenta-y red, and less gold on the front end. Included is the trailer originally available with the Chronicle release. The trailer holds up to seven MechTech or similar 5mm peg accessories. Four holes are located on the top-front end of the trailer, with another three inside. The door also folds down to become a ramp, and the inside of the trailer is big enough for several Legion or Commander Cyberverse toys, or one smaller-end Deluxe figure. The pair together cost a dollar less than a regular Voyager Class toy. It was also available at Galeria Kaufhof department stores in Germany, with Comettor not highlighted as a "bonus" figure. The Fracture, Crankcase, and Breakaway exclusive toys were originally meant to be part of the 2008 Universe line, but Walmart insisted that they be placed into the Movie line instead (their logic being that the old Universe line eventually failed in the market, while the Movie line was a dramatic hit). The same is true for Big Daddy, Grindcore, Jolt and Divebomb, if this Hasbro product listing is any indication. There is another release that you might want to look into. It's Movie the Best MB-11 Optimus Prime. This mold uses silver paint instead of chrome, has additional paint details in robot mode, has articulated hands, and uses the Dark of the Moon version of the mold as the base ( Meaning that he has the updated abs and has the transformable gas tank guns ). Aesthetics are always subjective, so I'll just post some comparison photos and you can make up your own mind.
