About this deal

This is a key factor in finding the right changing table. Whatever you choose needs to have a safety strap that fits comfortably around your baby’s stomach to keep them from rolling off the changing space even when you have a hand on them. You’ll also want to look for an option that secures to the surface with an additional strap or with a topper or tray. Never leave your baby unattended, even for a moment, when changing their diaper on an elevated surface. Compatibility While I’ve seen the Evolur brand itself sold at Target, I haven’t seen this particular changing pad there yet.

The pee will just run down towards their feet. See? My apple juice test saw the juice run down from the center of the pad to the foot of the changing pad.

FAQs about the Keekaroo changing pad

Not only is the base meant to be non-slip, but the changing pad also has a tabletop attachment so you can attach it to a dresser or changing table surface.

Because the material cannot be easily penetrated, there’s less of a chance of bacteria build-up or mold. If you’re looking for changing pads similar to the Keekaroo Peanut Changer, you might consider exploring other wipe-clean options with innovative designs and durable materials. Brands like Bumbo, LA Baby, and Skip Hop offer changing pads that feature waterproof surfaces and raised edges, aiming to provide similar benefits to the Keekaroo Peanut. While they might not be identical in terms of material, they share the common goal of providing durability, easy maintenance, and a safe changing space for your baby. Is the Hatch Changing Pad Worth It?

Medical Review Policy

In our family, we’ve actually never used a traditional changing table with either child. So it was great to have something that made diaper changes easy to do anywhere and everywhere. I’ve changed diapers on a table, the floor, the couch—you get the picture.

Comparing the Hatch Grow vs Keekaroo or the Leander, the Hatch Baby is also about a half-pound heavier at 7.5 pounds, and has an additional piece of molded plastic that forms the base, with rubber feet which rest on your changing table (similar to a home bathroom scale). The rubber feet helps it stay in place, and not slip around, which is important for safety. The bottom of the Hatch (left) and Leander Matty (right). Both have rubber feet to prevent the changing pad from slipping. Just as wonderfully squishy as the Keekaroo, the Leander Matty Changing Mat is my personal top choice vs the Peanut Changer for a few reasons. While these next generation changing pads seem awesome, they’re also more expensive than a typical changing pad. I’m concerned with sustainability and the environment—we cloth diaper and try to reduce our use of one-use products, so the Keekaroo Peanut it allowed us to skip plastic disposable change mats in favor of something reusable. However, if you need baby gear that’s a bit more portable and mobile, I think the Bumbo is a better choice as a portable changing pad, as it’s pretty much half the weight at around 3.5 pounds. The Leander is in the middle, and is actually pretty easy to carry around and weighs 6.6 pounds.

And plenty of people do LOVE the Bumbo, and have used it happily in their homes as a Keekaroo Peanut changer alternative. The Keekaroo and Leander Matty tie in terms of sponginess, but the Matty is softer to the touch, and more comfortable for my own skin when I touch it. Both are way softer and spongier than the Bumbo, which I already think is pretty good! It’s about half the price, and made of a similar material, though tbh, it’s more of a Leander Matty changer dupe than a Keekaroo dupe.
