About this deal

The Q button the X100V is surprisingly small, and located on the far right side of the body where your thumb rests. It’s not that easy to find by touch, but it’s likely you’ll soon get used to its position. You also have to hunt around to find the focus mode switch, which is in an unusual position on the left side of the body. White Balance Automatic Scene Recognition/ Custom 1-3/ Color Temperature Selection (2500K-10000K)/ Daylight, Shade, Fluorescent light (Daylight), Fluorescent light (Warm White), Fluorescent light (Cool White), Incandescent light, Underwater

At the time of testing we were still waiting for Adobe to support the X100V's raw files, but the latest version of Capture One does, and also does a superb job – Phase One and Fujifilm have close ties these days. Our sample images received only slight editing, except where indicated. Video Exactly! I love the OVF, and the EVF option here, with the X100 Series. I do prefer the OVF, but it's good to know, i can always switch to the EVF, with the push of a lever, if needed. Now, go into the settings on your iPhone or iPad (once again, I am in the Apple world; I do not know for sure if this works the same way under Android, but I assume so) and connect your iDevice to the new Fuji wi-fi network. Note: once you do this successfully, you are connected to the camera and NOT to the internet since the camera, of course, does not have an internet connection (unlike your phone, which probably does have such a connection).

Thumb grips attach to the camera using the hotshoe and provide a more comfortable position to place your thumb and hold the camera. Using thumb grips is very much down to personal choice, but with the X100V and X100 series cameras being so small, it can be useful for photographers with larger hands. The X100V gets pretty much all of the same autofocus features as the X-Pro3, making it very capable for a camera of its type. With top and bottom plates made of solid aluminium, the Fujifilm X100V bears all the timeless elegance of the X100 series – plus significant design improvements. It’s the first X100 series camera to have weather resistance*, so you can shoot worry-free in almost any conditions. The grip, ISO dial and lens barrel have been finished in a premium alumite satin coating and are now easier and more comfortable to use. A new 3.0-inch, two-way tilting rear LCD touchscreen has also been added, providing intuitive control along with more creative and versatile framing options. The X100V comes with some significant changes, but still follows the basic formula its predecessors have followed for the last decade. Our pre-production camera gallery started out with a dark, gray January, and our full-production gallery ends with quarantine. But we did get some nice photos here and there. Approx. 10fps [Only electronic shutter, 1.25 x Crop] (JPEG: 153 frames, Lossless compression RAW: 18 frames, Uncompressed RAW: 18 frames) It’s worth noting that unlike the X100V, this is probably more a camera for those who prefer to shoot in RAW and process images to their liking, rather than the immediacy of shooting in JPEG. And the other thing worth noting is, of course, the cost. This is a premium Leica camera, and it is priced as such, meaning it will likely be out of the reach of most users.
