About this deal

Her aunt has been fostering the girl and they can tell that she is intelligent. Something bad happened to this girl though and she is still scared a year later of whatever it was. Clifford and Birdie will team up to find out who the girl is so that they can help her move forward, but as they get deeper into the case – they realize that she’s not the only one in danger. By the end of 'Deadly Games', you'll be hooked wanting to keep reading more to see what Cavendish and Walker do next. Definitely the author puts her name on this readers list of go to British Police procedural authors to read. This was a mystery where along with Walker and Cavendish the reader also tries to figure out who-done it. Two uniquely different characters are drawn together to solve a murder..then another...and another... Walker and Cavendish over time combine forces to try to catch the worst serial killer in Lenchester’s history. Walker starts using a forensic pathologist to help with the profiling and that person is George.

Also all the male cops are either assholes or super dopey. I was unaware that was the only types of men to exist.

Publication Order of Cornwall Murder Mystery Books

The author starts the book with Whitney’s Mum showing signs of dementia, which was extremely worrying as she is the only carer for her brain-damaged brother. This wasn’t an issue, what happens was; She is aided in her investigation by Dr. Georgina Cavendish, a lecturer who steps out of the isolated world of academia after one of her students is killed by the serial killer. Walker manages to make an arrest and it seems like case closed, but then another girl is murdered. Walker is taken off the case, but Cavendish convinces her to keep investigating and the two continue their investigation.

Once again Sally has come through with an AWESOME read! Each case is unique in it's own way and I look forward to trying to figure out who-done-it. After a teenage boy is found dead on a Lenchester train, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker believes they’re being targeted by the notorious Carriage Killer, who chooses a local rail network, commits four murders, and moves on. Clifford meets up with Detective Constable Bird and she won’t give him access to the records he’s requested unless he allows her to help in his investigation. He doesn’t want to be part of a team again after what happened with the special squad, but he agrees to the terms. Now, these two must find the truth before time runs out.I’ve only recently discovered author Sally Rigby’s series of crime books, which follow detective Whitney Walker through her professional -and private - life. It’s definitely a theme which can easily be slotted into the ‘crime fiction’ genre, but I think that risks underselling the novels. Second in the series, it stands easily as a stand alone, but I highly recommend starting with Book 1. Watching how the characters grow, change, and expand as they work hard to solve crimes is well worth reading.

Wouldn't there have needed to be a bit more of an argument, with him being a bit more persuasive? And is it really likely that an academic with no police experience whatsoever would almost immediately be taken on as an unpaid advisor and given access to all the case details? I don't know, I don't really have any police or legal knowledge either. So perhaps it would. But if I'd been arrested as part of this investigation, I'd like to think that my solicitor would try and challenge it in court. This version isn't without errors but this time they were expected and I was pre-warned as it was an advance copy Sally sent me over. Therefore I've passed on mistakes I spotted straight across to her. The bodies of the victims are found mutilated, no clues left behind. Walker and her team aren't even real sure of the motive until the killer sends a letter to a local news station. In the letter, the killer states that there are many more to follow ... if the law can't put them away, then the killer can.

A young female student from the local university body is found by lecturer Dr Georgina Cavendish Aka George. Partly because Sally Rigby has just been so wonderful. To send me - little old me - a signed copy of her first book, and those of two of her fellow authors, just because I have no greater talent than an ability to tell a bad joke. The least I can do after having read the book is to leave a review. But I have to be honest. And, I'm really sorry, but that means saying something critical ... Well she is taken off the case and talks to George as their relationship starts to build after a stiff talking to from George they decide to team up all under the radar with key trusted members of the team away from the station. While the killer leads the police on a game of cat and mouse, Walker and Cavendish form an uneasy alliance. But will it be too late to stop the worst serial killer in Lenchester’s history?

The two headstrong women join forces to stop the killer. But sparks fly when real world policing meets academic theory, and it’s not a pretty sight. DEADLY GAMES is the first crime fiction/police procedural book in a new series featuring DCI Whitney and Forensic Psychologist, Dr. Georgina (George) Cavendish by author Sally Rigby. There is a lot of resistance mainly coming from Whitney. She eventually makes a somewhat hasty arrest and she gives a press conference only for it to blow up in her face when another murder happens. This case also sees Whitney and George’s relationship tested due to a secret that Whitney is not privy to as George would not discuss it as she is keeping a confidence. So they need to dig deep to get on with the case. Can they find a way to put the case first and mend things once Whitney finds out?
