Molly and Giles are newlyweds who have inherited a manor house from Molly's aunt. When they decide to turn it into a guest house they have no idea that someone with a tragic past will use it to exact their revenge on the people they feel wronged them. Christopher Wren – Christopher Wren is the first guest to arrive at Monkswell Manor. He’s named after the designer of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Watch out for his interesting behaviour as he interacts with the guests. Could his shifty actions be as a result of hiding something? Last November I went to see an amateur theatre production of The Mousetrap (Kaarina-Teatteri is situated in an old wooden house, and it has a cozy café and a lovely older gentleman as the usher). It was my first experience of amateur theatre, and I was pleasantly surprised how focused all the actors were and how they breathed life and personality into their specific characters. The set design was also great. Properly cozy, like you'd expect to see in a Christie production. The stage and room were both small, so when things started getting exciting, you felt like you were in the same room with the characters. When the lights were turned off, one of them was strangled right before my eyes! And that whistling... Creepy. Mr. Paravicini is foreign, dark, and elderly with a small flamboyant mustache. For those in the audience who are familiar with Agatha Christie's other works, Paravicini seems to be a slightly taller edition of Hercule Poirot, which may serve to confuse some members of the audience. Paravicini claims to be lost after his car overturned in a snow drift. He is much taken with himself—first leering at Mollie and then providing a dramatic reading of his untimely arrival in a storm with no luggage. The audience learns at the play's conclusion that he is a con man or crook.

Since the retirement of Mysie Monte and David Raven, who each made history by remaining in the cast for more than 11 years, in their roles as Mrs Boyle and Major Metcalf, the cast has been changed annually.
