Proverb deodorant is made only with ingredients derived from nature. We approach our formulas like we would a Nutribullet smoothie, if you wouldn’t want it in you we won’t put it on you. Active, Core or Sensitive: Remember to choose the right strength level for your armpits. Level 1) ACTIVE = our deodorants created for those who suffer with BO and rely heavily on deodorant. Best level if you are transitioning from an anti-perspirant. Level 2) CORE = free from sodium bicarbonate/ baking soda for those who have allergies to it, don’t require such super strength and for younger, teen armpits. Level 3) SENSITIVE = for super sensitive armpits. No baking soda and a gentler base formula to care for delicate skin.
All of Fussy’s formulas are natural and vegan - but not organic. They are free from aluminium, parabens, toxins, sulphates, petroleums, propylene gasses, gluten-free and cruelty-free as they are currently in the process of gaining their Leaping Bunny Certification. Sensitive skins need looking after differently and this is something that we were determined to specialise in. In the natural deodorant market, Sodium Bicarbonate has amazing efficacy, but it is known to irritate some sensitive skins. So, we wanted our sensitive formula to be free of this but still have amazing efficacy. We have also swopped in arrowroot and added Chia and Broccoli seed oil to protect delicate skins. Fussy currently has 8 flavours within their natural deodorant collection: Unscented, Forest Haze (Woody), Sun Drunk (Tropical), Night Tales (Flora), Wide Eyed (Citrus), Wavy Days (Fresh), Tropic Tonic (Lime) and a limited edition Parma Violets scent (September 2022).

I tried their sanitizer pretty early on, and recently I was offered the chance to test out their natural and refillable deodorant. I was certainly excited, as it had been on my radar for a while! This vegan treatment is free from aluminum, artificial fragrance and colourings, parabens, phalates, PEGS, petroleum based products, and alcohol. It's also thoroughly tested - according to the founders it is rendition number 89! - so you know that your pits are protected. As soon as body odour is being produced then we are happy to advise starting to use Proverb Deodorant. It is perfect for a young armpit. It avoids the aerosol gases and inhalation of strong fragrances into young bodies. Especially for girl’s synthetic body spray, deodorant and perfume fumes have been linked to endocrine disruption, which can have a negative impact on reproductive function. Spray deodorants are not ideal for asthma, they irritate or for very sensitive skins as they are airborne and it falls everywhere. Yes, Proverb launched in 2018 as a natural organic skincare brand with an assisted stretch concept that works in spas and hotel gyms. They have a Refillable Sanitiser and then 5 retail skincare products with 12 spa products and amenities - not to mention, offering skincare and deodorant samples to those that want to try before they buy, unlike Wild, who don't offer this option. If they have super sensitive skin, we suggest using the sensitive deodorant first as their skins won’t be as used to essential oils as an adult. The first two scents come in either a ‘core’ or ‘active’ option. Core is for everyday wear and active is for those people who work out and sweat a lot. Antiperspirants are formulated to actually decrease or stop sweat- hence the name anti perspiring. They do this by using aluminium to plug your sweat gland and stop the sweat from coming out. Deodorants do not do this. Yes, They sell a wash bag made from recycled bottles and a deodorant dish that is designed to store your refills in. Proverb lists all of their fragrances on the INCI lists for each of the deodorants, hence why their INCI list is longer in comparison to Wild. However, when launching Proverb decided to create a Sensitive & Unfragranced option, specifically for sensitive skins. This has no aroma, but the actual base deodorant is also different making it more suitable for super sensitive skins, plus being baking soda free. In the Core & Sensitive deodorant ranges, there is no sodium bicarbonate. In the Sensitive deodorant arrowroot swaps in instead of cornflower.
