About this deal

Since Poodles don’t lose much hair, a de-shedding brush isn’t usually required but they can be used occasionally if you really want to prevent hair fall around your home. High-Quality Materials

This depends on what sort of grooming and trim style you prefer for your Poodle. If you lean towards the popular clipped coat, then you’ll likely need to groom your Poodle every 3-4 weeks, or maybe just once a month. This assumes that you are engaging in some fairly regular brushing and upkeep of your poodle’s curls. Comb– A basic wide-tooth comb is a good place to start deshedding for many dogs. You can use metal or plastic. Grooming brushes for Poodles are best if they are lightweight and glide smoothly through your dog’s hair. It makes it easy to detangle and get rid of knotted or matted hair. Ultimately, you want a lightweight brush that is going to be durable. We like the Chris Christensen brush because it’s made out of wood as opposed to plastic. Large Head Brushes Combo brush: With two brushes on one handle, these are usually a bristle brush on one side and a pin brush on the other. Pin brush: These have widely spaced metal pins set into a rubber cushion. Look for a brush that has pins with rounded ends to ensure the brush is soft against your dog’s skin.

Detangling comb

The squishy, non-slip handle is easy to grip and helps you get into difficult-to-reach spots, like underneath the front legs, where mats tend to develop.

Straight-tipped pins, those that are cut and shoved into the pad of the brush and sold can actually cause scrapes on the dog’s skin and even brush burn. The coat of the Havanese may be clipped or kept long. Show dogs must have long hair, but family dogs can be trimmed short for no-fuss grooming. Be very careful about giving your dog bones – the only bones a dog should have are those which do not splinter and large enough that they cannot be swallowed or become wedged across the mouth. Stagbars (pieces of deer antler) are completely natural, ethically sourced and ideal for puppies as well as older dogs. Chewing releases “happy” chemicals in the dog’s brain which help to make the dog calm and contented. This is why, chastising a dog harshly for chewing something they should not have can cause the dog stress such that he looks to alleviate that stress by… you guessed it…. chewing! You may also give nylabones, or (my Hav’s personal favourite) Dentastix, which she has last thing at night. Chewing helps the teething puppy but do not leave a puppy unattended with anything it might chew pieces off as the pup could choke. Instead, if the puppy is going to be unattended opt for a chew he cannot get pieces off – a Stagbar or chew toy (inspect chew toys frequently to make sure they have not become so well chewed that there is a danger that pieces may come off. Trimming Nails Worn out suspension bushes can be replaced by new ones. At times, the entire component, such as the control bar, is replaced as it may only be available as a whole of part of the suspension arm. You first want to buy a high-quality brush with thin and long needles. The needles shouldn’t be sharp because you don’t want to scratch your Poodles skin. With the FURminator Undercoat deShedding Tool, humans who share their home with a cat or two can reduce the amount of fur found throughout the home. This tool has a stainless steel comb, with very small teeth, that glide through the topcoat and into the undercoat, safely eliminating loose hair and cat dander.

Bristle Brush– Most good dog brushes have bristles that are either boar bristle or boar and nylon. Brushing your dog with one of these brushes on a regular basis is one of the best ways to help reduce shedding and keep your dog’s skin healthy. Poodles have coarse, curly hair, but that doesn’t mean they are all exactly the same. In fact, there are three different varieties of common poodle coats, and they should be treated a little bit differently.

How often should I brush my dog?

You can also bathe your dog a little more often when he’s shedding to cut down on the dead fur that falls from his coat. Bathing your dog helps loosen dead fur so it comes out easily when he’s dry and you’re brushing him. If your dog is having skin problems, a medicated shampoo can be a good idea. For dry, itchy skin, an oatmeal shampoo is often recommended. There are also some shampoos that are recommended specifically to help with deshedding. While brushing, make an effort to brush your Poodle’ss hair thoroughly, especially the often neglected areas that are prone to mats. These are mostly around their ears, genitals, legs, and belly. 3. Choose Your Brush Wisely This wide-toothed comb is a great choice for working out those stubborn tufts of hair. The Safari Dematting Dog Comb has large teeth that are rounded at the end to provide a massage-like effect, preventing the irritation of your pup’s skin. Best of all, this comb is equipped with serrated edges to gently root out dead skin and tough tangles. This comb is pretty large though, maybe even too large for the facial area of your pet. 4. FURminator Undercoat Deshedding Tool for Dogs Alright, I don’t think that I can possibly write anything more about pin brushes for dogs but if you have any questions, you know where to find me! Pet Head manufactures the product in the USA without the use of sulfates or parabens. Simply spritz some of the product onto your dog’s tangles, massage it into the hair and work out the tangles with your hands and a brush. What’s The Best Brush for Poodles?
