About this deal

Using a computerized telescope is brilliant for finding objects. However, there is a downside in which you should be aware (but thankfully it can be overcome).

For example, you will be able to see the individual arms of a distant spiral galaxy or the vibrant colors of a nebula. The reason for this may be because the focal angle is narrower than some other reflectors. This will bring these individual objects more into focus than a telescope with a lower focal ratio.I got my first camera - asi120mc-s which I love and still have. This camera is a lot of fun for planets and the moon. If you get a sun film you can also do the sun. Haven't done that yet. Celestron provide a comprehensive set of accessories to use with this scope. The following come included in the box:

Celestron Nexstar 6SE Pros and cons

Mechanically, the mount is sufficiently robust. Though the fork portion of the mount is only a single arm, this downside is negligible due to the very lightweight optical tube. Its 12 pound weight capacity also allows for a few extra pounds of gear, whether that be a large, high quality eyepiece, a Celestron StarSense module, or other upgrades. These three things create a beast of a setup that is impressive. When it is all working correctly, the whole system together is a marvel to watch in action. It makes you realize how far technology has come in the last decade. The Ghost in the Machine Don't buy if: You're an absolute beginner looking for a cheap first telescope, or are a purist not wanting a GoTo scope. If you are looking to get the most ability out of a NexStar telescope without getting too massive, then the 6SE is the telescope you need to be considering. The traditional way of finding and identifying objects in the sky is with a printed hand-held star chart.

If you received a red dot finderscope that looks like the unit pictured here, follow the instructions below to replace the battery:

Dew is a nightmare, well not these days because you can buy the heated dew ring and of course use the dew shield that makes the tube shake with just a little breeze, so buy a refractor. SkyAlign is advertised as being super easy to use. Still, whether it is a user error or a focusing issue, sometimes the program does not work as intended, which can delay or throw off your plans to have a computerized viewing session on a given night. Short exposures have their limitations and on occasion you most likely want to move on to an equatorial mount. Forget about the wedge for the NexStar and get a proper mount at that point. Until that point just enjoy your current setup and collect experience with data aquisition and processing. There is a lot to learn in this hobby and you can learn most of it with your current setup. Since the NexStar mount has a Vixen clamp you can even experiment with other scopes or your camera lenses for more wide field experience.

In the 1970s, Celestrons Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes brought the hobby of astronomy to the masses and established Celestron as the worlds premier telescope maker. Our founder, Tom Johnson, invented Celestrons proprietary method of producing Schmidt corrector plates for superior views and maximum portability. Johnson believed in creating high-quality optical instruments at an affordable price, and inspired a generation of amateur astronomers. Despite its smaller aperture and somewhat narrow field of view, many deep sky objects can be seen in detail. Large globular clusters are an exciting view under dark skies, as well as some of the brighter galaxies like M51, M31, or M33. The long focal length of the 6SE also allows for the observation of small planetary nebulae, such as M57, Caldwell 39, or Caldwell 63. Though pricey, the Celestron NexStar 6SE is well worth the money. It is one of the best telescopes for amateur astronomers looking to take their hobby to the next level. Where to buy?

Product Summary

The Celestron NexStar 6SE telescope features a Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system, which has a 1500mm focal length coupled with a f/10 focal ratio. Boasting Celestron's StarBright XLT optical coating, you're guaranteed to get beautifully clear visuals, making observing celestial objects an absolute joy. I started astronomy 20 years ago and stopped for university formation and lost connection to the sky for a long time, so I was aware that to start once again I need a first scope, but I did not dig enough to see the change in perspective.
