I've bought it for when out driving my mobility scooter. For my protection the way any other driver has a dash cam. The colours are true to life, or as some people like to call it "washed out". The colours in the videos are not over saturated or abnormally colourful. The results exceeded my expectations; the video has an excellent crisp look to it, good colour rendition and excellent contrast, even low light conditions are good, the sound quality was also something of a pleasant surprise. The method of control makes it very simple to view on or transfer video to your computer, hence I have not the slightest difficulty in awarding it five stars. No blending between frames. It's really easy to catch reg plates with this. Even though the quality is far worse than the HS Drift HD170 I have on the front, it's miles better at getting plates.
What to look for
Very good picture quality for its size (640X480 VGA or 2 mega pixels). Videos look good even when shown on my video projector. Records at up to 30 fps so videos are not jerky. Rolling shutter: If you've got a lot of vibrations going on where the camera is mounted (i.e. on handle bars or rear) and have fairly hard tires etc, you might notice some "waving" of the footage. The camera is pretty bad for rolling shutter affect although head mounted not a problem at all. The duration for which we retain your personal information will differ depending on the type of information and the reason why it was submitted. However, in some cases personal information may be retained on a long term basis: for example, basic personal information about you will normally be retained for so long as you maintain an account with us, and personal information that we need to retain for legal purposes will normally be retained for at least six years in accordance with usual commercial practice and regulatory requirements. It will not work as a web-cam on Windows 7 Starter. No work-around exists. It will not work. I did not buy it for that, but tested it, researched why it failed, and learned there is nothing to be done about it. For what it is worth, it seems to be a Microsoft problem.
