The fabrics that I’ve chosen for the pads in our store are American-made and the highest quality fabrics designed for menstrual products. Cloth pads are a reusable product. This is good news for the environment, as well as your bank account! You do, however, have to spend a bit of time taking care of them. They might also work better for people with very large labia. In this case, pads may rub against them and feel quite irritating. If you don’t mind a bit of staining, just throw them in the wash with your regular laundry. They are made of 100% cotton, so will feel softer the more you wash them.The last piece of fabric that you need to consider when purchasing reusable pads for a super heavy flow is minky. Minky is not a very absorbent fabric, but it is the perfect top layer because it helps spread fluid through the fabric and down the pad. Gusher Pads for Heavy Periods Let’s chat about the hidden layer of a cloth pad. Flannel or basic cotton are the most common fabrics inside a pad. To increase absorption, the hidden layer is made of two to six layers of flannel or basic cotton.
