About this deal

use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity. Seamless synergy between Samsung TV and Samsung soundbar. Optimized sound for clarity and immersion from the soundbar based on the analysis processed by your Samsung TV. On the downsides the Q700A comes with many of the same problems we saw in the other Samsung releases. The SmartThings app does not offer you the ability to change some of the soundbar settings like separate channels volume. We also would like to have Google Assistant along with Alexa as many dirty cheap soundbars offer both nowadays and the omission of a USB that can be used to connect external storage is also a strange one. The optional surround kit will surely add significantly to the cost while in terms of performance the Q700A felt a bit weak on the lower end. The Samsung HW-700B is a great all-rounder entertainer. It’s able to deliver crisp dialogue (which has long been a strong point of Samsung’s better bars), but can slam hard when the action demands it. It can also cut a rug with streamed Bluetooth music. Last but not least is the subwoofer which includes a front-firing driver for the low frequencies which we vastly prefer in comparison to the side-firing one we saw in the Q950A.

Brace yourself for a powerful, immersive gaming experience with subwoofers that enhance the scene and up-firing speakers that provide incredible surround sound. The soundbar automatically switches to Game Mode when connected to your Samsung TV so you can focus on playing, not setting up. The SmartThings app also has a voice enhancement feature allowing you to make dialogue sound more clear and crisp. Competition Connectivity is more accommodating than has become the norm. In addition to HDMI eARC/ARC, there’s an HDMI source input that supports 4k HDR10+ pass-through, ideal for hooking up a games console or 4k UHD Blu-ray player. There’s also an optical digital audio input for legacy TV connections.A low, straight ceiling will help to make the Atmos effects more distinct while the higher the ceiling the more you are going to loose in upwards extension and fidelity. So keep in mind that if you want decent performance then the ceiling shouldn’t be higher than 3 meters, even lower if possible. Using touch sensitive buttons certainly looks nice but trying to find them in a dark environment can be a frustrating procedure. Also touch sensitive buttons can become less sensitive to touch over time so it has its pros and cons going for such a design decision. The Q700B doesn’t have a detailed status display or onscreen interface. Instead it communicates via a front-facing LED display that’s designed to be read through the perforated grille. This is fine if you’re sitting face-on, but it becomes less legible when viewed from the side. There’s also limited on-body controls for volume, source selection and power. The partnering wireless subwoofer is relatively compact and decor friendly, with a fabric frontage, and port to the rear. With Atmos capabilities the top layer felt more alive but keep in mind that the kind of Atmos effects you get here are not on par with what a full Atmos system can offer. Atmos sounds will feel elevated compared to the rest of the action but height depends not only the the soundbar’s capabilities but also on the design of your room.

We tested various genres to see if you could spot any irregularities but to be honest the unit can do good with most of them. As always with soundbars, these are not meant to be any kind of HiFi equipment for high fidelity music. If this is the case then you are reading the wrong article. But if you are looking for a device that can give you your daily music fix then the Q700A can fit that bill and with great success. You don't need several remotes. Control key soundbar functions like power, volume, and even sound effects with the Samsung TV remote - right from your TV.

You work at BID, what a legend.

The built quality of the soundbar is quite impressive, considering it sits in the mid-priced range. The same can be said for the subwoofer, although the thin fabric used to cover its front, seems like it could easily rip. Controls Samsung soundbar analyses the sound signal to automatically deliver optimized sound based on each scene. Adaptive Sound lets you hear voices clearly even on low volumes so even quiet conversations are heard. Samsung has gone for a more angular design with its 2022 soundbars, which is distinctive if not overtly fashionable (softer curves are more on trend, we feel). Overall build quality is fine, but there’s no nice acoustic fabric on show, this is very much a sliver of hard plastic.

Its overall performance and sound signature makes it ideal for any kind of use either it be movies, gaming, sports or casual viewing and will surely elevate the experience your TV can offer. It comes with enough extras to keep you satisfied while the ability to expand it to a full 5.1.2 channels system will surely be appreciated by many that want the extra surround immersion. The soundbar supports HDMI-CEC which means that if you connect the unit to the TV with a HDMI cable you can use the TV’s remote to handle some basic controls like volume. This may not give you the complete range of supported functions but it may help in certain situations. The soundbar offers everything we were expecting from Samsung. It is not the most feature complete unit we have tested, and some omissions will certainly hurt its practicality overall, but what is there works very good and will suffice for most users. Initial Setup The design of the soundbar is almost identical to its predecessor, the Samsung HW-Q70T. Not only do they both share a sleek look, but they also have metal grilles covering their front and top sides whereas the rest of the body is made of hard plastic. Some might be put off by the sound of ‘plastic’, but let me tell you it feels pretty sturdy and durable. After you connect all parts to the appropriate power outlets then both the subwoofer and main unit should pair automatically. If for some reason they don’t then you have the option to do it the manual way and there are very clear and easy instructions on how to do that.
