About this deal

Here are the outside dimensions for the V1 and V2 versions of each different size of a Peak Design Camera Cube. Note that there are two new sizes available in version two.

The new V2 Camera Cubes together with the range of Flex dividers are said to be 10-15% lighter than the first generation, making your gear load a little less heavy without sacrificing all the protection and weatherproof durability that comes with it.

Usage and Features

Getting things in and out of the WANDRD PRVKE is simple. The zippers feel good, but they’re not quite on par with the glidyness of the Peak Design bags. Basic shoulder bag styles provide convenient access to frequently-used accessories, or you can opt for more robust DSLR and mirrorless fitted casesthat protect cameras and lens attachments against everyday wear and tear and weather-related exposure. Choosing the right camera insert for your bag involves considering the size, protection level, accessibility, and customization options of the insert.

Zippers feel great and slide easily 270 degrees around the contours of the bag, with large grab handles that feel sturdy. There are a number of different attachment points for skis, trekking poles, or tripods, and it comes with space for a hydration bladder, an all-weather rain cover, and an ActivZone harness to keep things from bouncing too much while running or jumping. The bag is fairly narrow and hugs the body well, making it easy to do things like climbing.Cool, understated military-inspired looks spoiled only by a white tripod logo on the rear-front – why, oh why Tenba?! Curiously enough, the tripod symbol isn’t visible on the bag shown online, so maybe I received an odd one.

To gain a better perspective on ‘Looks’, (as well as ‘Fit’, and ‘X-Factor’), I asked my wife (5ft 7” / 175cm) to weigh in with her opinion too. The other new size, “smedium,” has a 10-liter volume and includes many customizable dividers. It has enough space for an interchangeable lens camera with an attached lens, a couple of extra lenses, and some small accessories. Depending on the size of each lens, of course. The Peak Design Camera V2 (large) holds a lot of camera gear. Obviously, some of the criteria are highly subjective. Whether a camera ‘looks cool’ or not was left to me and my wife to decide, and you may not agree with our taste!Using the full capacity 15 or 20L of the Everyday Zip is actually easier than on other bags, thanks to the 270-degree zippered opening and wide access points. You can fit a couple of cameras, lenses, laptops and multiple accessories, with space on the bottom to strap a tripod. Instead of the previous YYK zippers which were very nice but not weatherproof, the new cubes have very nice weatherproof zippers. I think the new zippers are Peak Design’s own UltraZips, and as expected, they are buttery smooth. I can see nothing wrong with that. In addition, these improved zippers will clearly increase the protection of the cube when used outside of one of the larger, more protective, Peak Design Travel Line bags. This low-price alternative still delivers capable interior bag inserts that can be tailored to your requirements with flexibility that allows them to be used in a wide range of other bags. We should also note that the medium and large sizes offer very similar organization on the interior. The only real differences with the medium and large sizes is that they come with two additional small and large dividers. This means you do have a lot more options in terms of organization with the larger pouches.
