About this deal

Revised 10/6/22: some more design process, including meters, added. Even if you have read it, you may want to re-read.

Globally, this amp is surprising, since it offers many features at a ridiculously low price. The other two amps sound better, in my opinion, but cost much more and in one case (the Io), offer far less. The best sounding amp of this trio is the Rega Io, while the SA1 and the T9 are almost on a par. The SA1 is more precise, controlled and transparent, but the T9 is more forgiving on lesser recordings. Hence, it could be a better partner for low cost set-ups that play even lo-fi recordings or compressed music. How was the Company Founded Founder Mr Liu loves music but is not at all an audiophile. He was in other businesses before as Yima, so when he decided to enter this business he just added Ai, love in Chinese, to the name. You can see that in the photos. But he obviously had found the right people to assist him. First of all i will say that i wasn't so keen with how it sounded with my Q Acoustics 2020i's as it sounded quite bright to my ears. the Q acoustics are quite bright sounding and the T9 accentuated those characteristics a little too much with the Q's . Maybe this brighter sound is just more typical with class D amps? I worry about CD's going away. I am having a hard time noticing huge quality differences between the CD's and Vinyl.None of this has repeated when connected to anything other than the following Sony CD Carousels. The amps work fine when connected to each of the CD carousels via the RCA In terms of soundstaging, its performance isn't on a par with the other two amps, in the sense that the stage is geometrically correct, but a bit small in size. Moreover it appears more focused and located in between the speakers. Again, I'm quite sure the cheap tubes play a significant role here. Please read my reply to the other reader above. Set your crossover around 100 Hz and maybe go downwards slowly to see what you like. It changes what you perceive even if your main loudspeakers haven't changed at all. Strong output power and low frequency output: use amp IC TPA3221, each channel can output 100W(4Ω), match perfectly and easily to drive all 3-8Ω passive speakers, adds a low frequency output easy to connect active speakers and build 2.1 channel system, the bass effects is greatly enhanced. Now I see what you mean. OK. The Aux Out on the T9 and the T9 speaker output are synchronously controlled by the T9 VOLUME: you turn up the volume and both the volume of your main loudspeaker and subwoofer output will go up accordingly. This has NOTHING to do with the subwoofer CROSSOVER. Or, put it this way. the Subwoofer Crossover ONLY adjusts the sub and has NO effect on the main loudpspeaker. You hear a difference but that is ALL from the subwoofer and your main loudspeaker is NOT changed at all under any circumstances.

I got the feeling that this configuration sounds a bit like a tube system (including the feeling of being slighty slower), and I am a tube man! I was satisfied. A Completely Different Business ModelWhy is the same product sold under many different names? Mr Liu’s friend’s factory OEM’s for a lot of people. Perhaps, and I’m not sure, some of them have small design changes, but...More importantly, from what I understand, these brands, Aiyima, Suca, Douk, Nobosound etc, compete as well as cooperate. Some would re-brand something without hesitation (same factory) and use their own sales base. This is pretty unthinkable in the West. Grant you, the products are similar (a testament to the very high level achieved with cheap digitals now) and, if you ask me, there is not much room for breakthrough. Al in all, for the price i paid 76USD shipped_+ power a supply, i think it's a great sounding amp for the price! I personally run the T9 PRO through Aux/RCA, through my Schiit Magni Heresy which serves as a preamp, which is plugged into my Focusrite Solo audio interface. Works flawlessly.I think these amplifiers are great - they have allowed me to try and experiment with things - while leave my main system alone - and though I am going to sell my T9 (though I do like it) - I have an A07 which is fantastic paired with a reasonable DAC!! Secondly, the T9 does not have a built in phono preamp, therefore, if you want to use the T9 with your turntable, you will either need to have an external phono preamp (like my Vincent PHO-8) or have a turntable with a built in preamp. More information here if you are unsure if you need a phono preamp or not. There's no precise “zero” position for the tone controls, and it's quite easy to place the knobs off center. Editor's Note 2/2/23:Readers may be interested in this newly published Video of the Making of Aiyima T9 Pro. It shows in detail how an Aiyima product is made.

You can only in- or decrease bass and treble in the TONE mode (+/- 10db in 1db steps). If you do, the unit automatically switches to the TONE mode. Sadly, there is no full EQ to manipulate different frequencies. Up close, the menu display is clear, the layout simple and streamlined. Overall, I liked the features, lots of connections, sounds really good to me. I ran it mostly with 55 - 60% volume and it sounded clear, lots of details, base, etc. etc. Overall I love the retro look of the device (especially in a dark room) the tubes 'glow' and VU meter is great (though the meter isn't very sensitive - you have to play loud to see it moving). In practice, the A30 has one input less than the T9/T9 Pro, as the RCA analogue input and the coax cannot be used simultaneously. One of the RCA inputs is used for either coax or the analogue right channel. Never seen such an implementation before. Another question one might have is how this one compares to the Aiyima A07. I find both to be entirely capable devices, but it depends on what you're interested in. The A07 is a powerful, no-frills amp at a great price, so if all you want is something simple I can still happily recommend the A07. However, the T9 PRO features some nice added bonus features like Bluetooth, bass/treble adjust, and looking extra cool while being more compact overall. I find its compactness to be particularly nice as my desk is quite small, so I would find this suitable for desktop PC usage in a private office or a small dorm. If you happen to own an A07 already, I believe you can connect them together, though I haven't tried that.

The reason for this is: without the antenna, the BT will have a poor reception distance, likely 3 ft at most. This will cut off other connected devices. By holding your device close you can achieve re-connection. Wiim Mini Streamer -> Optical output into a Optical to USB adapter -> into an RPI3 running CamillaDSP then via USB into D03 and finally out to some bookshelf speakers

The Aiyima had no problem driving both pair of speakers to a more than adequate listening level from my seating position (6 feet from the speakers) Personally I had been "playing" with it quite a lot. I put it in my car (love it), tube-rolling it, put it in my living and hook it up with DIY speakers so I don't have to power up my main system just to watch youtube etc.

Briefly, who am I 简介

That said, the 6k4s that come with this might sound better with a set of speakers with a V curve or on the more bass heavy side, given they already had good clarity in the upper range, were just wimpy sounding. The Wharfedales have a more pronounced midrange. They're not monitors (flat), but more on the balanced side, slightly warm before any EQing. I'm convinced that these audiophile "experts", could care less about listening to music (which at one point involved simply hitting a play button), they just like plugging electrical things in, then giving their opinions on it, which are moot, because you aren't in the room with them when they're reviewing "said" amp/preamp/etc. So, let me get this straight.... The audiophile expert opinion on the cheap chinese product #500 floating around the internet is that "The T9 sounds great, but has X number of problems, and desperately needs a new "PS" (power supply I'm assuming) to get the most out of it. However, the T9 Pro has fixed the majority of "said" issues the T9 has, but no one knows if the power supply needs replaced. If it does need replaced, then, short of buying a variable power supply (SMPS...whatever that means), which costs more than the amp itself, no one knows which one, or where, to get it. And, if you do decide to get this "SMPS"....."thing", then you can just get a "good but cheap one" (again, whatever that means), then the T9 is great (but only if you use it as a preamp, in this case). While I was in HK, I had 2 locations. The "older location" was where my reference was. The "newer location" was where I spent most of my time from late 2012 to late 2018 (Last revised Nov 15, 2019).
