structure and the three characters who are featured in the film. It also looks at Robert Redford's contributions as narrator. Included are extras covering the episodes "Daybreak" (3:33), "Kill the Messenger" (3:38), and "No Good Horses" (3:14). The show is elegantly photographed, capturing classic Western vistas but holding firm to relatively simply techniques that keep the focus on the Cowboy Camp (HD 1:50) – Yes, the actors on the show had to take some training on how real-life cowboys do their job. This short featurette has the actors talking about their experience. Season One is a good introduction to this world and these characters. I found myself wishing for just a little more Costner at times (he's in every episode, but not always part of the featured story), but that's only natural given he's by far the most "known" actor here. If there's a breakout star of Yellowstone, it's Kelly Reilly, whose Beth Dutton is both strong and vulnerable, and Reilly's performance is right up there with Costner's and Birmingham in terms of quality. I can't give the first season of Yellowstone a perfect score, but for a new series, it's off to a pretty strong start.

Opening Pandora’s Box: Making Yellowstone Season Four (37:08 in HD) – A comprehensive overview of the season and its aims from co-creator Taylor Sheridan and major cast members worn ranch attire or sharp business suits. Hopefully, Yellowstone will release to 4k Blu-ray Disc with HDR some time in the future, athough remastering the episodes may not be at the top of Paramount’s priority list. There are some epic and wide-spanning shots in the show that are gorgeous in 1080p (one wonders what it may have looked at in 4k) and best viewed on large-screen TV. Biking in Moab (1080p, 2:55): Making some of the mountain bike scenes with emphasis on the locations and the assortment of cameras With external forces trying to take his land, Dutton faces internal problems as well, primarily from his offspring. Daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) is the most similar to her father – a ruthless businesswoman when the need arises, but she has her own inner demons – most of which stem from the death of her mother, John's wife, when she was a young girl. Featurette (1080p, 3:56): A discussion of why National Parks are a magical, majestic fit for the big screen. It also looks at the film's

This is reference quality digital cinematography with a clean, neutral color palette. Paramount’s generous AVC encodes are immaculate, free of artifacts. Audio The story is a bit slow paced as this is not an action movie. But Taylor Sheridan does a great job with the wonderfully spacious and languid pace of a slice of life western. The show focuses on the Dutton’s first and foremost, but almost equally spaces out time for Sam Elliott’s Shea, and many others along the way. It’s not going to be a wild and intense ride like Yellowstone, but instead is more of an incredibly leather worn and fascinating peek into the past of the Dutton dynasty before they become massive landowners. The film follows naturalists and thrill-seekers Conrad Anker, Max Lowe, and Rachel Pohl on an adventure tour of America's most famous National Park shot introducing Devil's tower at the 10:46 mark shares these same characteristics.
