About this deal

On a cake stand or cake board (or wherever your cake is going to sit) put a heaped teaspoon of butter cream in the middle and position your first sponge cake on top of that. This will anchor your cake in place and stop it sliding about. Pour mixture into the prepared tin. Leave out to cool and set over the next few hours or overnight. While the Mixture is Setting... Cover the top of that sponge layer with a thin spread of buttercream and put your second sponge on top of that. Repeat the process with the third sponge layer. At Christmas we all want chocolate, we have a guide to your everyday chocolates but thought a Christmas one might help with all the chocolately Christmas specials around, whether it be chocolate santas, a huge box of roses or some naughty truffles. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups of water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and sugar, stirring occasionally. Once boiled, reduce heat to low and continue stirring every few minutes.

Congratulations! Your Turkish Delight is finally ready to enjoy. Pair it with a cup of hot tea or perhaps a cup of vegan-friendly hot cocoa for a truly divine, melt-in-your-mouth experience! Some bakers will also use a milk mixture that you have to watch out for. An inquiry into whether they use honey to sweeten the treat is also important if you want your delight to be truly vegan. However, the best Turkish Delight is made right in your kitchen where it is guaranteed to be vegan! How to Make Your Own Vegan Turkish Delight Imagine my delight when I discovered this box of Turkish Delight thins at my local Tesco shop!! Similar to After Eight mints, except that they are filled with a thin layer of Turkish Delight and covered in milk chocolate. There are some ingredients in the video that are different, but the overall process is the exact same. The woman cooking in the video uses her Turkish father's original recipe with some fun twists. What You Will NeedThese delicious Turkish Delight Thins make a fantastic gift or a great after dinner treat to share with the family. Indulge yourself this Christmas in some delicious Turkish delight fondants covered in a thin layer of milk chocolate. The chocolates come individually wrapped and are presented in an attractive tin. Anyhow – beyond the sleuthing, I was itching to try these and see if they are as good as some of the other TD’s I’ve sampled before. Or perhaps, just see how they compare to a Fry’s (Cadbury).

Turkish Delight is one of those things people love or hate. I am firmly in the love camp. For me, it’s always had a hint of the exotic about it, those romantic Laurence of Arabia style adverts from the 80’s mean that this rose (or lemon) scented sweet is wonderfully evocative. What could be a more romantic tea-time treat than this showstopping Turkish Delight Cake? It’s a stunning looking (and tasting) cake. It looks fancier and harder to bake than it really is. If you can bake a sponge cake and mix up some buttercream, then you’ve got all the skills needed to make this cake. Showstopping Turkish Delight Cake After an hour, remove the pot from heat and add rosewater (or whatever aromatic extract you like). Stir thoroughly, then add a drop of food coloring. You can technically use any color you wish, but red is the traditional color. Don't add too much or else it will be too dark! Stir well.

Good to know

I had made brownies in the past filling them with a layer of minty After Eights. Oh my but they were scrummy . . . the centre of the brownies all fudgy and mint flavoured . . . impossible to put down. Imagine the same thing . . . but with a moreishly scrummy centre of Turkish Delight. Once you’re happy with the flavour, add a few drops of the red food colouring and mix well and add more colouring until you’re happy with the shade of pink you’ve got. Make sure your buttercream is well combined and smooth.
