About this deal
For reasons that I don’t fully understand and aren’t really explored in the video, the 24 year old child rapist wasn’t prosecuted.
Children are increasingly being bombarded with content marketing on social media: funny videos and memes which link to products. Children may also follow minor celebrities who promote certain brands and products. Along with changing attitudes, social policies and specialist institutions emerged which gradually changed the status of children. One study (reported 2020) based on a sample of 3000 10-16 year olds found that half of them were online for more than 5 hours a day. However, there are sociologists who point to the downsides of some changes, especially in the last 50 years. The next century saw the gradual increasing of the school leaving age and increase in funding for education:Professor Guy Claxton Emeritus professor of the learning sciences, author of Building Learning Power
So does mine. Imagine discovering that your sulky darling encapsulates the decline of western civilisation. We can only pray that Miss Palmer has an unusually powerful imagination. The 1833 Factories Act was the first act to restrict child labour – it made it illegal for textile factories to employ children under the age of nine and required factories to provide any children aged 9-13 with at least 12 hours of education a week.
Footnotes
In Britain, society has set the age for the beginning of adulthood at 18, when their legal status changes. Palmer argued that changes to childhood resulted in harms such as higher obesity levels, reduced concentration spans, and increasing mental health problems. Social attitudes towards children started to change in the middle of the 19 th century, and childhood gradually came to be seen more as a distinct phase of life, separate from adulthood, with children needing protecting from the hardships of adult life, especially work and provided with more guidance and nurturing through education. And that’s just those children who have been formally diagnosed. That figure of 7.2% represents those children who have reached the clinical diagnoses threshold – where their distress impairs them so much that it gets in the way of their daily functioning. The recent growth of the idea of ‘rights of the child’ has given children more of a voice in society.

While the number of adverts children watch on television has decreased since 2013, social media is a different story. With such marketing techniques children may not even be aware they are victims of commercialisation. The ‘schoolification’ of early childhood NB Safeguarding is now a big policy agenda, but to my mind it doesn’t really do anything new, it’s just refining and rebranding Every Child Matters and previous policies.
Acknowledgments
years of age is really where children start to get more rights – you can serve. with the armed forces, drive a moped, get a job (with training) and change your name at 16. Point 5 – Changing roles for women suggests women are less focussed on their children. Evaluation – The New Right would suggest this is a negative development, but Feminists argue that this means positive role models for girls growing up with working mothers
