The Pathfinder Kill Teams are the embodiment of that philosophy of war, with their many specialists and tools for any situation, as well as their all-round excellent ranged weaponry. Once per battle, friendly operatives close to your Leader can benefit from the Art of War ability he triggered in the previous Turning Point (if he did so). Tactical Ploys A Worthy Cause The model is likely to require a bit of cleanup here. I know I hopped the lines a bit going around the edge of the drone, and that marker does not come off once it’s dried, plus Contrast can be unruly on the best of days. This is a good time to stop and handle that, but then we’re on to highlights: The Stealth Suit Leader and Gun Drones act as both a screen for the pathfinders if you find yourself defending or otherwise stationary. If you have to go and take objectives the mobile flyers make excellent objective takers and you’ll often have decent number advantage since there are 5 drones. Also the 5 drones make it very hard to kill your Leader. You should also make sure to support/defend the rail rifles with this unit.

The first is removing the downside of your drone buddies, so you can do mission actions and control points as if you’re 2APL. Free actions can only be performed when another rule specifies. Each time an operative would perform a free action, the following rules apply. With four units and seven(!) Drones to choose from, kill teams from the T’au Empire can be customised to a huge extent, allowing you to tailor your strategies to a tee.The SHIELD DRONE with Saviour Protocols can soak up fire against your MARKSMAN or WEAPON EXPERT PATHFINDERS , keeping them alive after they’ve changed to Engage and fired. I’ve played multiple games with this list and variants but I certainly haven’t stress-tested it. Guess what? The T’au are really, really good at shooting – who knew? Every single gun in your team, from pulse carbines to rail rifles, is deadly. Landing 5 hits with an Overcharged Ion Rifle means potentially dealing 15 damage outright to any operative. While that sounds outlandish, setting up 3 or more markerlights on a target while bonded means you are thorwing 7 dice that hit on a 3+, while your opponent needs to roll their saves naturally. Against elites this is where you want to put your effort, so you can fire at a target and then forget about them. Now that you’ve had a good look at t heir upgrade sprue, which is full of new toys, you probably want to know what all of that tech does. Recon Sweep [1cp]– All models wholly within 6” of a table edge can make a free dash move, as long as they are wholly within 6” of one of the edges that are not your Killzone edge. Often times you’ll set up for the first turning point with this in mind, and get your moves up on either flank. On diagonal boards 6” can cover the majority of your team, so there are some very cheeky plays you can make with Recon Sweep. I generally expect to use this ploy 1-2 times a game. Gives the bearer an action that can apply a Markerlight to each enemy within triangle/2 inches range of the bearer. Drone Repair KitCompared to the compendium teams, Pathfinder teams essentially get a whole new suite of Equipment to play with. Photon Grenades return here, but as everyone already has Markerlights and the Shas’Ui comes with a Holographic Readout built in, this team calls for all-new options.
