About this deal

This rail costs 70€ and allows you to mount the polar scope of the Sky-Watcher HEQ5 (50€). Now you can align the Az-GTI as you would do with the built-in polar scope of the Star Adventurer and an app such as Polar Scope Align PRO. The all-new Star Adventurer GTi features a built-in illuminated polar scope for precision alignment in EQ mode, ports for USB, autoguider, V-style dovetail, optional SynScan hand controller, and SNAP shutter control for your DSLR (programmable via Sky-Watcher’s free SynScan Pro app for iOS and Android). Star Adventurer GTi also includes a dual-position counterweight for use at low latitudes as well as full smartphone control via Wi-Fi. And, of course, for those of you that want full control of the mount and with plate solving and pulse guiding (ASCOM/EQMOD), you can connect the mount to your laptop using the USB Type B port. This thing seriously feels like a miniature EQ6-R Pro. It even kind of looks like one. If you already own a Sky-Watcher mount like the Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro, you could connect your existing SynScan hand controller to the mount head and control it like your EQ6-R.

Interfaces: USB, ST4 Auto-guiding, SynScan Hand Control Port (Synscan handset available separately), DSLR Shutter Release Port, Built-in Wi-Fi Module Android: further improvement to make send work correctly while mobile network is connected (ConnectivityManager.bindProcessToNetwork()) With a load capacity of up to 5kg, the Star Adventurer GTi mount can carry heavy DSLR or mirrorless cameras with telephoto lenses. Combining it with a small refracting telescope and an astro-camera also works very well. Now, I know not everyone feels this feature is essential, but “ How do you find objects in space?” was the most common question I got from beginners using the original Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer. Motor command: when available, use 32 bit command for axis position and motion control related command. Improves performance for mounts that support it.Please be aware that The Widescreen Centre cannot be held responsible for any postal or third-party delays that may occur. We are committed to providing a reliable and efficient delivery service for our valued customers. This mount kit does include 2 serperate counterweights (0.7Kg & 1.6Kg) which they have stopped using the single 2.5Kg, so the mount is ideal for mounting DSLR cameras. The new Star Adventurer GTi is the perfect solution for all astrophotographers who are looking for the ultimate combination of high power and lightweight transportability. If you already have a tripod, you could buy the Az-GTI only for 420€ instead of 529€. Add the 250€ in needed accessories to use the Az-GTI in equatorial mode and, once again, the Star Adventurer will be about 130€ cheaper. You can now autoguide in both RA and DEC, control the brightness of the built-in illuminated reticle, and fine-tune your polar alignment with a studier, more substantial EQ wedge. The Star Adventurer PRO allows you to spread the budget over a longer period of time, while the Az-GTI will drag you immediately into electronically assisted astrophotography (EAA). This means you will soon shopping for computer software or the ASIAIR, for a guiding camera and guiding scope, for a power tank, etc. On paper, the net difference between getting the Star Adventurer and dressing the Az-GTI as an equatorial mount is only about 130€, but in practice, you may soon find yourself doubling the initial budget to take full advantage of the Az-GTI EAA features; With its 5kg payload capacity, the Star Adventurer GTi is well-equipped to handle your DLSR or mirrorless camera sporting a wide-angle or telephoto lens plus accessories, a small aperture astrograph with a dedicated astronomy camera, or simply an OTA for visual use via its 45mm dovetail saddle. The included adjustable height stainless steel tripod is a stable platform for the mount and includes a handey accessory tray. Using a high-power eyepiece in the 76mm refractor, vibrations damped down in about three seconds, so just acceptable. After I slewed to Jupiter the GTi kept it dead center at 120x over a two-hour test, impressive indeed for a small mount.

But then the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer came out and it was a game-changer, bringing astrophotography to the mass. Affordable, capable, lightweight, and compact, it was the perfect instrument for wetting our feet in the astrophotography pool.

The NEW Star Adventurer GTi is an excellent choice for anyone wanting a compact portable mount for visual astronomy or astrophotography.

Interfaces: USB, autoguider (ST4), SynScan hand controller, and a SNAP port for DSLR shutter control programmable via free SynScan Pro app The GTi can operate wirelessly via the SynScan Pro app (for Android or iOS) using the GTi’s WiFi (left), or via an optional wired SynScan hand controller (right). Credit: Alan Dyer A wedge to put between the mount and the tripod. This will allows you to polar align your mount. The Wedge of the Star Adventurer PRO will work for the Az-GTI too and for 80€ if comes with the prism rail; Interfaces: USB, autoguider (ST4), SynScan hand controller, and a SNAP port for DSLR shutter control programmable via the free SynScan Pro app
