About this deal

The milk itself is very white in colour and has a strong hemp aroma. Out of all the barista milks in this review, Good Hemp takes the longest to settle and is the best plant-based milk for frothing. 5/5 Happy Happy Soy Boy The flavour of the milk masks the coffee’s ever so slightly. But it is still a good, milky drink that doesn’t taste watery. There’s also a hint of saltiness that is delightful. The ingredients list begins with the standard amount of oat content — 10% — with rapeseed oil, iodised salt, an acidity regulator and calcium and vitamin supplements rounding up the rest of the composition. Oaty Bruce At first sip, this is wonderful and complements the coffee beautifully. The oat and coffee pair well together and it’s delightful.

There are barely any big bubbles. A light tap and it’s beautiful microfoam. While it is overly wet, that helps with the overall consistency when adding it to coffee. While it makes for a nice drink, it is highly watery in texture, even with the double amount of oats in the milk. 3/5 Provamel Barista Oat Square Mile hosted the 2010 World AeroPress Championships, which took place alongside the 2010 World Barista Championship in London, and the 2015 English Aeropress Championships. [29] [30] Hoffmann competed in the 2010 Aeropress Championship. [31] Sort of. I’ll answer the acidity question in the flavour bit of the review. Oaty Bruce takes a minute to froth and form foam, and when it does, it is quite bubbly. These bubbles never really settle, however much you tap.The problem is, that strong flavour eats into the coffee’s when added to it. An Oatly cappuccino or flat white is very pleasant and sweet. It’s what you expect of oat milk.

Good Hemp is the UK’s most well-known hemp milk brand. While it does a pretty great oat and hemp blend, it’s not really made for coffee. a b "The 14th Annual Sprudgie Awards Winners And Honorees". Sprudge.com. 11 January 2023 . Retrieved 12 January 2023.

When I did this video I had no real interest in Oat milk, to be honest. I was guzzling cow's milk only in my coffees at that time, and the only reason I did this video is that I'd had comments in one of my YouTube videos asking me to cover milk alternatives. Rude Health is one of the two brands on this list with multiple barista milks on offer (the other being Alpro). The brand nominated its barista almond blend for this test. There’s not a lot of almond flavour, which is due to the fact that there are more oats than almonds in this milk. This isn’t a watery drink, which is a plus, but the flavour is just a little too loud and funky to actually make the coffee shine. 2.5/5 Sproud Barista

Holy crap, this is good. This is really, really good. Happy Happy Soy Boy is quite possibly the best soy milk I’ve ever had. Rebel Kitchen’s barista version, at least for frothing, lives up to the hype. It’s a great example of milks formulated specifically for barista use. It froths fantastically, leaving only tiny bubbles that disappear into the silky-smooth microfoam once tapped and swirled. This is one of my favourites of the bunch, but it's very close between this one and Minor Figures, below. Oatly Barista stretches very well, I managed to get a really nice velvety microfoam, and for me, the taste isn't overly oaty, it's not overpowering in the cup.On October 23, 2014, Hoffmann published The World Atlas of Coffee through Octopus Book Publishing Group. [38] [28] The book explores coffee history, varieties, growing methods, roasting, and preparation with a focus on origin, cataloguing the coffees grown in 29 countries. [38] The book was a commercial success, selling 320,000 copies, including a second edition in 2018 and translation editions in eight languages. [39] [40] [10] The book was also critically well-received, with The Guardian describing the book as "high geekery made palatable by the evident love pulsing through every sentence." [41] Like Happy Happy Soy Boy, Minor Figures doesn’t just complement the coffee’s flavour — it lifts it to a whole new level. 5/5 Oatly Barista

Again, pretty well, and it's difficult for me to decide without trying them again side by side, which I think is the best for steaming and pouring. I do need to do more experimenting, though, to try to fairly rank them in terms of how well they texture and pour, as I'm not sure whether the fact that Oatly Barista is currently my favourite in this regard might just be because that behaves the closest to cow milk to being steamed, and it could just be that I need to improve my routine with the other oat milk. Oatly Barista is fairly close to full-fat cows milk when it comes to fat and protein, 3g of fat per 100ml vs 3.6g in full fat cows milk (well, this is the case with the bottle I've just got out of my fridge), and 1g or protein vs 3.4g in full fat cows milk. That's only a third of the protein of course, but it's the highest amount of protein in the oat milks I've tried. Nutritional stuff (per 100ml). Miller, Victoria (20 January 2022). "Coffee & Fripes opens on Roman Road". Roman Road LDN . Retrieved 29 August 2022.It’s made from 10% oats, rapeseed oil, salt, a calcium supplement and an acidity regulator, which is quite clean-label as barista milks go. Oatly Barista The obvious difference with this one is the zero “of which sugars” when it comes to the carbs. When it comes to ingredients, it's ironic (isn't it Alanis?) that while this is sold as Oat milk, and the Rebel Kitchen Mylk isn't, this actually has less oat in it by percentage than the Rebel Kitchen stuff does. a b c d e Tait, Amelia (31 July 2021). "From Oslo pram guy to the teenage vacuum expert: inside the obsessive world of niche online reviewers". The Guardian . Retrieved 29 August 2022. I think this is my favourite oat milk so far cold, it's really creamy – and it doesn't have an overly oaty taste, I mean, you can tell it's oat milk, but it doesn't quite have that tang of raw oats if that makes sense? How does it steam & pour? Just as the foam and liquid were separate entities in the espresso-based test, Almond Breeze takes a while to properly blend with the cold brew, but it never really mixes in fully.
