About this deal

Minipresso NS may be an excellent pod espresso maker, but is imperfect. Here are some issues I found with it after using it for some time: Not Easy To Clean After a few attempts, we were achieving gorgeously smooth, rich cremas with every shot, thanks to those 18 bars of pressure forcing hot water through the coffee grinds.

Last, but certainly not least, ease of cleanup. With everything self-contained in the pod, you simply put it in your brewer, brew, and then take it out and dispose of it. Wacaco’s newest release, the Minipresso NS2, is everything you want from a portable coffee brewer. Especially if you’re a fan of brewing with coffee pods. The whole Minipresso feels sturdy and tough to the touch. It is made with high-quality, heat-resistant plastic, while some parts are made with stainless steel. There are a few reasons why even the most discerning coffee lovers can’t help but love brewing with coffee pods over fresh grounds. Wacaco also sells accessories for your Minipresso. If you want to, you can also get protective cases for your Minipresso if the drawstring bag is not good enough for you. Good WarrantyHaving to aim the Minipresso while pumping is inconvenient, and there’s no pressure gauge to measure your progress. We also found that some of the pumps were difficult as the pressure built. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll be rewarded with an amazing shot of espresso. The Espresso In look, price, and experience, the Nanopresso couldn’t be further than the top of the range espresso machines we’ve reviewed. And yet the taste is almost on par. It is more of a faff, it does involve boiling water and finding a flat spot if you’re outside, but the end result is seriously impressive. A new take on an old classic, the Minipresso NS2 is an update to the original Minipresso, which comes in both a GR (grounds) and NS (coffee pod) version. The original Minipresso espresso hand brewer also happens to be Wacaco’s very first brewer. That’s right, this is the brewer that started it all. You can brew your coffee anytime, anywhere, even if you go off the electricity grid for days or weeks. With the Minipresso NS, you spare yourself from having charge anxiety. Not Messy

The Minipresso comes with a good 12-month worldwide warranty, provided that you register your Minipresso. If you do use coffee pods that don’t fall under any of those categories, to dispose of them please place them in your recycling bin. Since coffee pods don’t use any plastic, that means they are completely recyclable. You can put them with the rest of your household recycling, including the top lid, just be sure to clean out the coffee grounds before placing them in your recycling bin.

Start pumping. It may take about 8-10 pumps to build enough pressure inside the Minipresso NS. Once there’s enough pressure, you should see the first few drops of espresso. With a look at sustainability, it’s important to consider the waste associated with brewing with coffee pods, and how to properly dispose of them, as well. As we mentioned earlier, consider using reusable pods, purchasing compostable coffee pods, or only buying coffee pods from companies that have their own reusability programs. The setup for the Wacaco Minipresso NS isn’t difficult, but it takes some time to get familiar with the parts and understand the espresso-making process. It’s not your typical espresso machine, which is why I needed to spend extra time reading through the manual. There were plenty of diagrams in the instructions that made it fairly easy to follow. There were no first-time use instructions, so after I rinsed all of the parts, I just assumed it was ready to go. It’s important to note the Wacaco Minipresso NS requires the original Nespresso capsules. The Minipresso NS2 comes with a 1 year warranty, so if for any reason it breaks or doesn’t function as it should, Wacaco will replace it. That’s a powerful statement from a brand. To start, it’s important to know that the Minipresso NS2 does not heat up water. You’ll need to do this separately or bring a thermos of hot water with you for brewing. This isn’t uncommon for Wacaco’s line of portable brewers, so if you’re familiar with the brand this doesn’t come as a surprise.

Yet it can generate up to 8 bars of pressure and extract a great cup of espresso from a Nespresso pod. I've been a product tester and reviewer for years, and have tested the original version of the Wacao portable coffee machine when it came out. I also travel, hike, and go on camping trips a lot, which makes me the perfect market for it.The Minipresso also comes with a cap that doubles as an espresso cup. This is very convenient for on-the-go brewing. It keeps the extraction head clean and doesn’t require you to carry a separate cup. Frequently Asked Questions The fact Wacaco’s patented pressure system can achieve that 18 bar pressure is a serious game-changer for hand-powered espresso, and it means the Nanopresso is able to compete in flavor against the top end of the market. Now drop in the coffee pod on the top end of the main body. This should be very obvious once you see the holder shape. Screw in the outlet cap. You may need to push down slightly before twisting the top cap in. You can relax the pushing down once the screw grooves have bitten in. I usually have to prepare a piece of cloth to wipe the excess coffee ground off my Minipresso GR. Using the Minipresso GR is definitely a messier process than the NS. Sturdy

After 6-8 pumps you’ll begin to see a smooth, steamy stream of espresso flow from the brewer. Continue until the brewer runs out of water. Enjoy your delicious, crema-topped shot of espresso. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality espresso, you may be pleasantly surprised by this device. The espresso we created was rich and complex, with a full body and an appealing aroma. Even better, it was topped with a beautiful golden crema.Let’s take a closer look at the Minipresso NS2 and how to use it, as well as the advantages of brewing with coffee pods. On top of that, some intricate parts will need a toothbrush to properly clean. These include the holder for the coffee pod and the piston mechanism. The holes underneath the bottom cap are also quite hard to clean. When you do this, keep a finger pressing down on the water tank. This helps to further secure the water tank, preventing hot water spills. On top of that, it is quite affordable compared to other Nespresso-compatible coffee machines. If these factors matter to you, the Minipresso NS will be a good buy.
