The vision and determination laid out by Sasha and Aaron is where this exhibition idea stems from. It endeavours to encourage the participating artists to return to their practice, to allow them to have experience exhibiting outside the institution and work towards a goal through their artistic practice. By enabling the artists to be paid for this opportunity it promotes the best practice around paying, commissioning and valuing artists and their rights. Sasha said:

Good news! We still have two workshops upcoming this year. Firstly, we have our ‘Fermenting the Garden’ workshop on Thursday 17 th March where you can spend the day learning all about fermentation. You will discover how different fermented fruit, vegetables and drinks have enriched our diets and improved health for centuries. You’ll enjoy interesting talks, demonstrations, lunch with our chef and much more! So if you’d like to get your tomato harvest off the ground a little earlier in the year, then you might want to plant a variety of tomatoes, but definitely include Early Girl tomatoes in there so you can have tomatoes much sooner than the rest. Her passion isn't just limited to plants; she's a staunch advocate for holistic, eco-friendly gardening techniques that benefit both flora and fauna. The purpose of a food garden is, of course, to grow food. A garden may be to supplement a bit of your produce, grow and can a year’s worth of pasta sauce, or feed your entire family. Whatever your garden goal, planning out the food garden is a key part of success. Sasha Napoli graduated from the BA Fine Art course in 2020 and went on to obtain an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studiesfrom the University of Leeds in 2022. The project was initially motivated by Sasha’s personal experience of being an artist and constantly searching for opportunities to exhibit her work. Sasha said:When putting these workshops together we couldn’t think of anyone better to join us than Mark Diacono! Local to THE PIG-at Combe and with over two decades of experience pioneering Kitchen Gardening across the generations with River Cottage and Otter Farm, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to share alongside our own PIG expertise. A Delicious Garden aims to encourage exactly this — a community. Through the exhibition and a range of activities – including a free artist-led workshop on Sunday 16 April – the artists invite others to share ideas, art or chat over a coffee or tea. The institution has had its fill – we are left fighting for the scraps. The Delicious Garden has been plundered, and its fruits left to rot. This is the dessert course of the unfinished and the unseen; a fitting end to the banquet.
