About this deal

Just like the majority of robot vacuums on the market, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni is circular-shaped and measures 4.3 x 13.6 x 13.6 inches / 10.9 x 34.5 x 34.5cm (h x w x d). It’s slightly taller than some models on the market, but it didn’t have any issues maneuvering between chair legs or under furniture with low clearance. The app provides instructions on how to clean those accessories, as well as the percentage of time left until replacement. Following 11 hours of cleaning, most of Deemaid’s parts were still in the range of 90%. But that’s just a suggestion, with many of these parts lasting much longer. Just use your discretion. On the lowest suction, the robot vacuum was able to collect every last bit of fine dust, cookie crumbs and larger debris – including cereal – from hard floors. However, we did find that on hard surfaces the side brush had a tendency to scatter debris further around the room, which made the vacuuming process slightly longer than we’d hoped. It does all these tasks well, but there are other products out there which offer a similar feature set at a lower price. For example, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni has comparable performance and was released at a similar price point in 2022, but you can find it on sale fairly frequently. One major concern is maintenance. Some of the T9+’s components need to be replaced more frequently; the air freshener and dust bags every 60 days or so, depending on use. Others, such as the brushes and filters, will last for one hundred hours or more, although cleaning using the handy included tool is suggested to maintain peak performance.

The charging station may feel a little bulky to some people, but I think the size is just right for what you’re getting. It houses two water tanks inside – one for clean water and another for dirty water – and it’s also got a dust bag for the robot’s auto-empty feature. The result is a robot vacuum that’s largely hands-off in the cleaning process, with little intervention needed. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni preview: setup and app control When you’re not using the mopping tool or air freshener, there’s nowhere to store them, so you’ll have to make space for them. Nevertheless, the overall design of the Deebot T9+ is simple and unobtrusive, so you won’t mind leaving it out all the time. Of course, Ecovacs’ Deebot T9+ is more than just a vacuum. It offers air freshener and mopping abilities too. Swapping between the two functions is as simple as putting in a different component. It registers immediately, and you can send the device on its way. When you pop open the top of the Auto-Empty Station, you’ll find the preinstalled 2.5-liter dust bag isn’t massive, but should last a month or two. In addition, your first dust bag replacement is provided. Under the station is a large tube into which the dust bin is emptied, adding to the Auto-Empty Station's overall size. Nevertheless, it’s on a par with rival vacuums, and not an eyesore by any means. Ecovacs has been in the best robot vacuum game for well over a decade now, so the brand knows what it’s doing. In fact, robot vacuums and their accessories are all that Ecovacs sells, ensuring all focus is put into advancing that specific technology. Ecovacs delivers high-end models such as the Deebot X1 Omni with all the top-of-line features you could ask for, including self-cleaning, and more economical options such as the Deebot T8 Pro+, which is the T9+’s predecessor.

Which vacuum and mop cleaner is the best: Deebot X2 OMNI or X1 OMNI?

From our comparison of Deebot X2 vs. X1, it is evident that Deebot X2 OMNI is more innovative and better in cleaning performance. The Deebot OMNI X2 can be too expensive for average users, and most need to get used to such a level of automation. But after some time you will start to love it and forget about cleaning. But we must admit that Deebot X2 and X1 are among the most advanced robots on the market. The T8 can recognize both CH1833/CH1822 charging stations and the auto-empty station. If you have both types installed in your home, it will choose to return to the auto-empty station over the other type. Auto-emptying will not start when you tell DEEBOT to return to the station after you have finished using Video Manger.

Ecovacs states that the Deebot X1 Omni will last up to two hours and fifty minutes between charges; however, note that this is in Quiet mode. On maximum power, the robot vacuum lasted for one hour and ten minutes, before needing to be recharged. However, this was sufficient to enable a full clean of a three-bedroom, two-storey house. If your floor is completely carpeted, we recommend positioning the station so that it faces the same direction as the carpet pile (rather than perpendicular to the carpet). So far, I’ve only asked the X2 Omni to map my apartment once, and it was fairly accurate. It initially mapped my kitchen and a hallway that leads into it as one single room, but this was easily fixed afterwards by separating the areas in the app. I’d like to give the robot a few more chances before definitively commenting on its mapping capabilities, but my first impressions are that it gets the job done reasonably well.During emptying, a small amount of the garbage smell will be driven out by the high-power fan, but this does not affect normal operation. If the station is placed on a deep-pile carpet or rug, DEEBOT will have more difficulty returning to charge. The X2 Omni has performed well in my mopping tests so far, as its rotating mopping pads help it ‘scrub’ the floor, doing a much better job than competing robovacs which simply wet and wipe the area. I’d like to try some further mopping tests on more dried-in stains before giving a final word on its abilities, but it's looking promising so far. During cleaning, DEEBOT can receive signals from the station. When it receives a signal, the manual emptying icon will be displayed on the main control screen, and you can select manual emptying (OTA). For sure. The sensors allow you to avoid pet messes while the main brush and powerful suction collect all hair effortlessly. Which vacuum and mop cleaner is the best: Deebot X2 OMNI or X1 OMNI?

Turn the Deebot X1 Omni over and you’ll find a swivel wheel at the front, plus two additional wheels on either side of the unit to help the robot vacuum to work its way around your home. Just like other robot vacuums, such as the Dreame Bot L10 Pro, the side wheels raise and lower, too, allowing the robovac to effectively clean a range of different surfaces. The Deebot X1 Omni isn’t the quietest robot vacuum we’ve tested. Our decibel meter measured a maximum of 60dB when it was cleaning hard floors, rising to 70dB on Max+, and a few decibels quieter on carpet. This is the equivalent level of noise made by a shower. No initial mapping or anything else is required beforehand; the Deebot T9+ just goes on its merry way as soon as you press Auto Cleaning. To start, it went to my living room, traversing with relative ease, even going under furniture that was mere millimeters from the laser mapping tool that sits on top. I saw it doing a full wrap-around table legs and chairs for a thorough cleaning. Deemaid continued cruising in and out of different rooms and then would return, seemingly getting the lay of the land. As soon as it hit a rug, you could hear the suction intensify. Underneath the X2 Omni is a rubber roller brush, which I have not yet needed to remove and manually clean. This is quite different to previous Ecovacs models that have used a roller brush with soft bristles and silicone fins, which I needed to remove and clean after each use. Thanks to the X2 Omni’s new square shape, the main brush is wider than previous models too. There’s also one side brush that rotates inwards to push dust from room edges towards the bar brush (as we saw in our Dyson 360 Vis Nav review), and there are two rotating mopping pads underneath. The Deebot T9+ is about the same size as the Deebot N8+, measuring 3.75in / 30cm tall and 13.9in / 353cm in diameter, which leaves a good amount of space for it to fit under and around furniture. However, it probably won’t clear most couches and tighter spaces. If you’re happy to hand off some of your household chores to something that’s plenty capable of getting the job done, consider Ecovac’s Deebot T9+. It delivers solid performance in both vacuuming and mopping with minimal effort on your part, so you can spend your free time doing what you enjoy. Ecovacs Deebot T9+ review price & availability

Note that the dust box can be manually emptied – although, as we’ve already mentioned, this does require the lid to be removed first. However, with that done, we simply had to raise the handle and carry the dust box straight to the garbage. We liked that the handle kept the dust box upright, so no debris could fall from it.

A robot vacuum that scrubs floors and cleans itself

While the mopping abilities have been quite good, the X2 Omni isn’t able to properly lift the mopping pads high enough to avoid dampening the carpet. In my testing so far, the edges where carpet meets tile have been left slightly damp, though not enough to be worrisome. I’ve only tested it with Medium water flow level, and I’ll need to see how damp carpets can become while using the highest water flow setting before giving a final verdict. Like many of the companion apps for robot vacuum available right now, the Ecovacs app is simple to use. Once the robot vacuum is connected to your Wi-Fi, you can choose between either entering the cleaning menu or accessing the built-in camera.
