About this deal

I made a point of using the Coral Finder for taxa that I already knew, just to test how it worked, and it holds up extremely well. Well done on making something so complicated, relatively easy!" Next is Brooke, and boy I looked forward to her povs. She was also naive (which kills me), but a cool character. I'd originally posted a review that was pretty long, but still didn't meet up to what I wanted it to be, so almost 6 months later I'm reattempting. Sexual: Goodness there was a lot of kissing in this book which I felt was just 😒 bc of the way it was in the story. A lot of it wasn't necessarily needed besides showing character flaws and growth. So for those of you wanting to stay away from that sort of stuff I wouldn't recommend. There was also an unwanted advances scene that kinda confused me... The mc was very smart in saving herself until she knew everyone's place so there was that. And they weren't detailed-ly described like secular YA either so it is better than normal, but still.

Director, National Center for Coral Reef Research (NCORE) Professor, Marine Biology and Fisheries University of Miami, USA Coral arranged a merger with another bookmaker, Mark Lane in 1971. By 1979, the company had become the Coral Leisure Group and had diversified to include a variety of other businesses, including casinos, hotels, restaurants, Pontins holiday camps, squash clubs, bingo clubs, and real estate. [6] Coral fulfilled every single expectation and I loved every minute of it. I 100% recommend it to everyone. This is easily one of the best books I have read in a long time. It's hard to put into words how I feel about this book. It's heartbreaking and tragic as it realistically portrays the pain of suicide, depression, and anxiety, but it's hopeful in that it doesn't end there. The beauty of this story is that it gives lasting hope to those who are struggling with mental health while encouraging them to hold on a little longer. I've wanted to read this for a while and when I heard it was a Little Mermaid retelling (of the og story by Hans Christian Anderson, not the Disney adaption) that only sweetened the deal. And the way this was written was so utterly brilliant. It really conveyed the tone and emotions the author poured into it. 😲🤭Triggers: Suicidal Depression, Anxiety, Synesthesia (idk if that's a trigger or not tbch), Survivor's Guilt, Cutting, Suicide, unwanted advances (Note: although these are all thoroughly explored, the author conveyed them in such a way that it isn't disgraced nor encouraged. It is skillfully taken on, and I believe it is a good read for people that are in a safe spot in their own mental health journeys to see them from other's povs)

Thank you so much to the publisher, Thomas Nelson, for providing me with a copy of this to read and review. Content: Depression, anxiety, and suicide are mentioned and discussed. You are given an honest glimpse inside the minds of characters who struggle with both depression and anxiety. Attempted suicide is shown, and the suicide of a character is described, although not graphically.

CHAPTER XII.

He thinks she should be with her family and essentially kidnaps her to keep her from going into treatment. Coral has always been different, standing out from her mermaid sisters in a society where blending in is key. Worse yet, she fears she has been afflicted with the dreaded Disease, said to be carried by humans—emotions. Can she face the darkness long enough to surface in the light? I urge you to read the author, Sara Ella's, review for this book as she includes a full list of trigger warnings. I definitely think that is important for this one.

The author takes us on a ride through imagination and tragedy and it will not please everyone. If blunt at times I wanted to simply walk away but I persevered and found this story pulled at my heart strings and made me feel for these characters. A unique way to get us to think about depression as a disease and I'm extremely glad I read this book to the very end. Ladbrokes Coral Group – Completion of Merger" (Press release). Ladbrokes Coral Group. 1 November 2016 . Retrieved 2017-12-27. Sara Ella took this single quote from Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, The Little Mermaid, and then spun and wove it into a beautifully crafted story about mental illness, heartbreak, and love. For me, the perspectives began to run into one another and I just never felt fully engrossed in the story. And Duke.... 😤 I hesitated giving this character any space on this review but all I want to say is I've never wanted a character to die so badly (okay I even feel bad for typing that but this dude is a serious problem and needs to be in jail, thank you) 😠 *cradles Jordan and Coral away from the lousy excuse for a man*

I am so torn. I really wanted to love this book. However, I want to give a HUGE thank you to the author. I love that she took a popular fairy tale and used it to bring awareness to mental health, depression, anxiety, and suicide. The fact that mental health is the sole focus of this book is amazing. Absolutely beautiful, heart breaking and ultimately about the power of love. I note that many view this as a retelling of The Little Mermaid but I beg to disagree. I found this to be slightly inspired by it yes but only as a vehicle to tell a profound story about depression and the ugly consequences. After his little sister attempts suicide, and their mother runs off, unable to cope, he blames his father for the entire situation.
