About this deal

Christmas in the Snow" is the next book by Karen Swan that has just blown my mind away, even then when I thought that her books can't be better. Well, they can. Actually, each new book is better than the previous one, although I really have no idea how it is possible. She is the author that always delivers. Always. A white Christmas in Poland is one of the most magical experiences and there are many beautiful places in Poland where you will be guaranteed snow in December! Try one of these traditional Christmas desserts from around the world for your festive menu! Copenhagen, Denmark Tivoli Gardens at Christmas time, Copenhagen There’s plenty going on to keep the whole family happy, and each of the 5 villages holds apres-ski events. Everything from firework displays, sledge rides, snowman building contests, and reindeer visits.

Visit vintage funfairs exceptionally open for the Christmas holidays or enjoy ice skating on the Eiffel Tower or under the beautiful glass cupola of Grand Palais. The last widespread white Christmas in the UK was in 2010. It was extremely unusual, as not only was there snow on the ground at 83% of stations (the highest amount ever recorded) but snow or sleet also fell at 19% of stations. I loved the idea of the Advent Calendar that Allegra and Isobel find in their mum's loft, and wish we had seen more of it in the earlier parts of the book. Whilst we see the sisters open the first door together on 1 December, we do not see it again until 14 December (other than the 'titles' at the beginning of certain chapters). However, I guess this fits in with how Allegra grows throughout the book; in the first part of the book, she is so engrossed in her work that she doesn't even notice that Christmas is approaching whereas a dramatic shift will soon change everything in her world. I liked the first part of "Allegra's life" but I loved the second part which emerges along with the dramatic shift.

There are lots of gentle, easy runs and they are kept in pristine condition. There are also plenty of restaurants on and off the slopes, and a great ski school too. Bettmeralp can only be reached by cable car. Therefore, being car-free means you can easily ski to the local supermarket and pull kids along on toboggans without worrying about traffic. For the parents, expect hot chocolate, vin chaud (mulled wine), candy canes and gingerbread whilst you wait for your excited children to return. Courmayeur, in the Italian Alps, is the perfect place to spend Christmas if you want to be surrounded by snow and picture-postcard alpine views. It is also an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise.Although it has become quite touristic recently, you can still enjoy the atmosphere with beautiful festive lights and great food.

Budapest is one of the most colourful cities in Central Europe that offers a large variety of activities for all ages. The winter season around Christmas is one of the best times to visit since this is when apart from the usual best things to do in Budapest there are a lot of interesting activities only available in the Christmas period. Once you’re done taking it all in, you’ll need somewhere to rest your head. My recommendation is Pike’s Waterfront Lodge. We have fond memories of a white Christmas in Zakopane in Poland. This beautiful town is a popular destination in Poland during the winter when it resembles a storybook winter wonderland.Christmas and New Year’s Eve in New York at the famous Times Square or watching the Thanksgiving parade in Central Park. You will also find markets, ice skating, ice carving and loads more fun events through the holiday season. Allegra Fisher barely has time to notice the snow falling around her, or that Christmas is just around the corner. She's pitching for the biggest deal of her career, and failure is not an option. When she meets attractive Sam Kemp on the plane to an important meeting, she knows that she can't afford to lose her focus. Those undercurrents and half-truths, I thought I knew where we headed and bang! Another layer was revealed. I’m glad my first impressions about one particular character held true. On Christmas Eve in the village square, Rhémy de Noel, Courmayeur’s very own Santa Claus, will visit, and there is a fantastic atmosphere with lots of additional events organized.
