About this deal

Advise patients that instillation of eye drops may cause transient blurring of vision and to avoid driving or operating machinery until vision is clear. PRESERVATIVE FREE FORMULATION: eliminates the risk of preservative reactions such as toxic events, allergic reactions and disruption of the tear film. Sodium Chloride 5% PF eye ointment for patients with corneal oedema or corneal erosions, unable to tolerate preserved drops,on the advice of a Consultant Ophthalmologist. Reporting suspected adverse reactions after authorisation of the medicinal product is important. It allows continued monitoring of the benefit/risk balance of the medicinal product. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions via Yellow Card Scheme gently massaging your eyelids with your finger or a cotton bud – this pushes the oils out of the glands

If patient experiences transient blurring of vision, they should be advised not to drive or operating machinery until vision is clear. Counselling Carmellose is a sterile, preservative free 0.5% ophthalmic solution of Carmellose sodium in vials of 0.4ml single use containers. The following additional adverse reactions have been identified during postmarketing use of Celluvisc 1.0% in clinical practice.If you’re using a bottle, remove the lid. If you’re using the single-dose dropper, twist the top off. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Not currently used. We intend to include this TLS in future to highlight where a decision to use this medicine is under review.

There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. Uncommon: Superficial injury of eye ( from the vial tip touching the eye during administration) and/or corneal abrasionPlease take care that the dropper doesn't touch your eye, your fingers, or any other surface. This could contaminate the drops left in the bottle. If you find it hard to use eye drops, ask a pharmacist for advice. They may be able to recommend an eye drop dispenser. Using eye drops correctly can be difficult, but there are several useful devices (compliance aids) available to help. Speak to your pharmacist to see which device would best suit your eye drops.
