About this deal

The Braun Series 3 would also be an excellent choice for a beginner or a teenager. They are really easy to use, clean and cheap to maintain. But most users will not really notice the difference and in the case of the 3010s, the results were actually quite pleasing.

Finally, the shaving head (called cassette) doesn’t have a release button, so you must simply grab it between your thumb and pointing finger and pull it straight out of the shaver. I did have some less than stellar experiences in the past with other Chinese brands, the only exception being Xiaomi which makes some really decent shavers for the money. I hope I’ll be able to try the one you recommended sooner than later. Right now I am in the process of getting and reviewing the new S9 Pro+ and also the new Prestige and a few other rotaries which I have lined up for a review. But I am quite intrigued by it and I hope to give it a try.

The Braun Series 3 300s is an inexpensive foil razor and the ability to use it both cordless and corded is a great advantage in the long run. While we can’t really say if it makes a difference when compared to a regular one, the design seems to make sense; you can see it in action here. Triple Action FreeFloat Shaving System So, I’m quite confused. Is there a new version of the 3010s that Braun released with the pop out trimmer? If you’re not particularly demanding when it comes to the closeness of the shave and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on an electric shaver, the Series 3 is one of the most compelling offerings out there. The Braun Series 3 340s-4 belongs to the first group and it is almost identical to the 380s-4 that we previously reviewed and turned out to be a really good razor.

Again, this is a very basic foil electric shaver, with none of the bells and whistles of the more expensive Braun models, like power settings, beard density sensors and flexible shaving heads. Also, while the closeness is satisfactory, a Panasonic Arc 3 will probably provide a closer shave, even though it won’t be quite as comfortable as a Series 3. Replacement parts availability Overall, the Braun 3010s managed to perform great during my tests with regards to comfort. Closeness I would definitely prefer a Series 3 ProSkin model like the 3010BT and 3020S you’ve mentioned simply because the shaving head of those models (32b) is noticeably better than the 21b that comes with the 300s. They look pretty much the same, but the differences are quite obvious during use.The 340s-4 has a typical Braun design, with glossy plastic on the front and rubbery surfaces on the sides for a secure grip. I did try the 3010s a couple of times with shaving cream and it worked well, but as expected, it wasn’t drastically better — definitely not to the point of justifying the extra work.

Here’s a table showing the main differences between the most popular Series 3 ProSkin models. ModelA basic rotary razor can work better on long and flat-lying hairs, but most of them won’t shave as close as the Series 3 and they aren’t anywhere near as comfortable.

They’re priced quite reasonably, especially the dry-only ProSkin models that represent a great compromise in my opinion. Finally, by now both the 340s-4 and the 380s-4 are discontinued and very difficult to find. Moreover, the price can be inexplicably high for such an electric shaver. Then the other day I saw a special offer going on the Braun series 3000s, and as the 2 foils on the heard are much smaller than the older models, I thought let me try out this new Braun. And speaking of charging, the shaver is fitted with a NiMh battery that should provide enough power for around 20 minutes of use. This is due mostly to the 3 independent shaving elements that can be very easily depressed and have quite a generous range of motion. For example, you only have to fully discharge the battery (through use) once every 6 months, so that’s practically a non-issue.
