It is one of the heavier models we tested, but with that weight comes more of the comfort and stability one expects to find in a “real” chair. I love this chair for camping trips. The frame is made from lightweight aluminum alloy and can handle a max weight capacity of 265 lbs. Otherwise, the REI Flexlite just feels like it’s going to break, with much more play in base and fabric seams that appear to be stressed. That said, it’s still going strong with a fair amount of use. It took multiple people to stretch the fabric body over the aluminum frame. At one point, we wondered if we were going to break the frame just getting the polyester body on. Fortunately, we didn’t, and subsequent assembly of the chair was notably easier. That being said, it’s clear that the fabric of Klymit Ridgeline Short is stretchier than others in my test, which may be an issue if you are at the upper end of the 265-pound weight limit of the chair.
