Dear, sweet merciful Jesus, where even to begin, to start untangling the catastrophic mess that is this novel. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, considering how long it was i was expecting more to happen, or more light to be shed on characters i actually put this copy down a few times. Keira and Dominic argue more than anything else, It really did nag on me quite a bit by the end over stupid things, plus its always saying how pure she is, i get that she has been through alot but she acts like any decent human nothing more nothing less. The other characters were just meh. They were sort of there, without adding anything major, and didn't add to the story. That just made it boring and predictable.

Okay, there's more that I can say that I couldn't stand about Keira and Dom but I don't think I would be able to finish this review if I listed them all. Okay, now that I've got that out of the way let me start with my dislike for Keira. I don't like her character. Plain and simple. I wanted so badly to throw my Kindle many many times and even had to refrain myself from deleting this book at one point. (And that's NEVER happened just because I hated the heroine so much) Kiera can be indecisive, and her self-doubt about Draven’s true feelings was questioned countless times when it wasn’t completely necessary. But she is a strong heroine, and her musings just made her feel more ‘human’, so I understand this aspect of her character and at times, when not an irritation, her naivety was rather endearing. This led to the next series, which was Transfusion. This was our look into the world of the Vampire King, Lucius, and his chosen one, Amelia Faith. The Transfusion series includes 12 books as well.Is “Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance” suitable for young adult readers? Yes, the book is suitable for young adult readers and above. However, please note that it contains some mature content. And last but not least we have the latest in the Afterlife world and that’s called The HellBeast King. There are currently 3 books in this series and the 4th is said to be on its way by the end of this year. Kiera does not evolve at all, her character does not grow out of this self pity that she always falls into. This book gets steamy as she finds Draven. Is it Kiera or Katie, or are they one and the same? We don't have many answers yet, and it is still like Deja Vu. Okay, so some of this is starting to make more sense now. However, it is just intriguing the memory loss, but I'm sure it will get explained. The story follows Kaz as she is running from her past in England, she arrives in the states to the complete glee of her sister to start over.

I have also written The Devil in Me along with my husband Blake. A dark erotic standalone story that we are both really proud of. The contradictions made little sense all together and made it extremely difficult to follow the story. At first Kiera loves her sister's house, next thing she say's it's creepy. She moved to give herself a 'new life' away from her past, and her scars, describing how people take extra care around her because she is emotionally fragile. But, the emotional fragility is nowhere in sight, as her mind is focused on gossip and trivial nonsense, like outfits and clubbing. When it focuses on something else it's on a guy. Kiera in one chapter loves hiking and the outdoors, in the next chapter is a clumsy person that isn't focused on physical exertion. She is this fragile flower, and an introvert that also leaves her phone number to the first person she meets, and goes clubbing. She is supposed to be shy and socially awkward, but then gets a job working nights as a waitress in the hottest club in town. See where i am going with this? How the hell am i supposed to know who is this character, if the author herself had no idea???

The Afterlife Saga Series in Order (14 Books)

Keira is new to the town, having moved from England to live with her sister to try and restart her life after an horrific past experience, but one look at Draven and she is captivated with him, and vice versa, but she has no idea just what she has let herself in for!!! Dominic Draven isn't merely the embodiment of mystery and sensuality; he’s also Keira’s new employer. With a brooding demeanor fit for a king and eyes that seem to penetrate the very soul, Dominic is a nightmare dressed like a daydream, bewitching all who encounter him with his enigmatic charm and dangerous appeal. From the beginning, and throughout the middle of the book, you are overburdened with useless information.

Things start to take a monumental turn when Lucius up’s the stakes in his mind games. By controlling her dreams he threatens the promise that Kiera will soon belong to him – his quest for revenge on his nemesis is vital in his plan, and yet his power has the ability to wield Kiera into keeping quiet, and therefore making her unable to voice her troubles to Dominic, who is the only one that can protect her… Why can’t Draven and Lucius with their councils overcome a spell apparently created by one witch? They’re supposed to be the most powerful supernatural beings on earth. It’s highly unlikely that any one person could circumvent their magical abilities. Nevertheless it made for a pretty good storyline. I did not finish this book because when Kiera started to sob and cry for the millionth time, I could not go on. This book contains a terribly ill-timed first sex scene. It was such bad timing that it felt abusive a little bit. Keira finds herself in danger as her past torturer learns of her whereabouts as made known to her by a creepy phone call and as she is running away in a blind panic, Draven and Co. naturally stop her from leaving. Rather than doing it in a calming manner and ensuring her of her safety, however; they act like weirdos themselves, leaving Keira feeling like they might possibly be involved, which leads to complete terror on her part. They drug her and she wakes up in a strange bed; fakes sleep, and as soon as they leave she does a runner throughout the estate. She is eventually caught and taken to Draven’s room. He continues acting in a creepy manner. He drops a file folder on his desk and says it’s time for the truth….Catherine. Catherine is her real name and the name she used when she was kidnapped and tortured. What kind of cruel, sarcastic asshole would go about it like that? The file folder contains her case file which he has obtained, but it’s not good enough for him as it was unnecessary for her to give a statement due to an overwhelming amount of evidence. So she relives the whole terrible ordeal and this is followed by the aforementioned sex scene. It’s not comforting at all, Draven acts sort of dominant, shouting out random instructions. Turn around! Look at me! NOW! It seems to me there is just no way Keira would be down for that right at that moment and no man worth an ounce of respect would have instigated it. Or possibly it just seemed like he was yelling because of the exclamation points. There was also a lot of unnecessary information within the sex scene itself. For example there is some clothes-ripping on Draven’s part followed up with an explanation as to why he is ripping her clothes. The scene is told from Keira’s point of view and it was insulting to the reader. I can figure out for myself why he ripped her jeans off. I don’t need an explanation. Afterlife...just some gothic nightclub where gossip is fuelled by the presence of a rich and unearthly, handsome family or afterlife...the strange place where time seems to stand still and guests feel the presence of something more powerful held within the confines of the VIP.

Wow, these are long books, really long, very descriptive, which sometimes lost me I must admit and I ended up skimming some of the really detailed parts, but the story line was brilliant and captivating, very in depth. The world is very creative and I really loved how well this read. Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance (Afterlife Saga Book 1)” is a thrilling and captivating novel that combines the elements of dark fantasy and romance. Written by an acclaimed author, this book takes you on an exhilarating journey through a world where mythical creatures, supernatural powers, and forbidden love intertwine. With its intricate plot and well-developed characters, “Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance” is sure to keep you hooked from start to finish. To give you a clear understanding of what “Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance” entails, here are the product specifications: Title This book begins with Draven and Kiera. She is still having nightmares but can't explain the details. Kiera is cryptic with her use of she and I as she rambled about stuff we don't understand yet. Who is this, Katie, and what does she have to do with Kiera? I'm thoroughly confused now. Okay, I actually do love all the inner monologue that Keira goes through before she finally acts on whatever dilemma she's debating on, but I wish we could've also have Dom's inner dialogue/POV, too!! #AlternatePOVsNeeded %-D

As you can clearly see I’m so hook on these books I’ve lost countless hours of sleep over them but worth every single hour lost Sometimes, people use pain and sadness to harbor it into something positive, while others hide it away and cry until they are empty. Afterlife Saga is 12 books in total, which includes the books that are in two parts plus the many spin-off books that follow, as some stories are just too big for one book. At the moment I am finishing Lucius's story in the Transfusion Saga and all 12 books will be released very soon. After that will be the conclusion of Vincent's story, Imp and the Beast, Books 1 & 2 and the other Afterlife King Spin-off series. There is also the Afterlife Academy aimed at a younger audience but still an important part of the whole Afterlife World. This book has an interesting note from the author. I'm not sure what to expect with the last book ending so happily for once. This book also has a warning for mature and explicit content.Wow, this was an epic read in more ways than one!! I loved the story line revolving around a human girl, Keira, who finds herself immersed in a Prophecy, involving Angels, Demons, Fate and goodness knows what else!!! Is this book part of a series? Yes, “Afterlife: Dark Fantasy Romance” is the first book in the Afterlife Saga. If you enjoy the first installment, there are more books to continue the story. This is going to be a really long review with spoilers. But it’s a really long book and I didn’t know how else to go about it. To help relieve the fear that still eats away at Keira’s core, and to help alleviate hidden threats, Dominic gifts Kiera with a little support, in the form of Ragnar, a Warrior Viking Demon who gets given the task of becoming her new Bodyguard. Kiera makes a friend in the local gossip queen who is also a goth, who introduces her to an extensive nightclub called Afterlife. Run by the incredibly beautiful and wealthy DRAVEN family. Upon her first night at the club, she spots Dominic DRAVEN as he enters the club in what is traditionally known as his once in an annual visit, however she can't help but feel she has seen him before - in her dreams!
