About this deal

Two compartments will work, but using a third compartment makes it easier to collect the worm compost. Key specs – Dimensions (LWH): 47 x 47 x 54cm; Capacity: 56 litres; Suitable for: Indoor use; Material: Plastic If your veg and fruit scraps used to end up in the bin you’ll be pleased that your bin is no longer a smelly dump. Instead, the worms do their job and turn it into nice, rich earth smelling worm casts (those are actually worm poo – but that might put you off so we go with the better smelling term).

We have independently measured some of our competitors’ wormeries and know that the common 2, 3 or 4 tray wormery that are sold measure just 32, 48 litres and 64 litres respectively. This fabulous wormery has been designed, created and manufactured to our specifications here in our home county of Hampshire, England.

The worm compost, known as worm castings or vermicompost, makes a great all-purpose soil conditioner, or add them to your own potting mixes to give them a nutritional boost. The worm compost can be used as a general soil conditioner or as a constituent of homemade growing media. It is generally rich in nitrogen and potassium. The Wormcity Made Wormery comprising of 4 Composting Trays (100 Litre Size) is the best product around because it’s big, is of excellent quality, a breeze to use and comes with everything you need to get started, including the worms. Price: very good value for a great design and added features you get with a strong wheel base, option to use as seat and large capacity per tray This UK made wormery measures 43cm x 43cm x 100cm and consists of four large composting trays. It is actually over 30% larger in terms of surface area than other wormeries with the same measurements. Perfect for a family of 4We have spent hours testing wormeries, measuring food waste, counting worms hatching out of cocoons, used worm casts for seedlings and plants with mind blowing success, been sharing our worm casts and worms with friends and inspired quite a few to do what we do. So we can definitely say this is one of the easiest, most enjoyable thing you can do for a more sustainable life. The WormMaster range of products has been designed and built to a modular form to allow the combination of other Renold products to extend the torque, ratio and speed range. Each unit is designed for use with IEC and NEMA electric motors, with B5 and B14 flanges.

The clever design also removes the need for turning, as air can flow freely through the bottom. More impressively still, a tap at the bottom lets you drain liquid from the compost – the perfect liquid fertiliser. Our runner up recommendation is the Original Organics 4 Tray Tiger Wormery. Constructed from recycled plastic, this one stands out instantly because of its terracotta red colour, which is a good choice for those looking to make a design statement in their garden. A wormery is relatively easy to establish though a few points need to be considered. Conditions required Holes in the bottom of both the middle and top trays ensure that the liquid produced by the worms can percolate down into the collection tray at the bottom. And once a tray is full, the holes enable worms to migrate up into a new tray, so that compost from the vacated tray can then be harvested. Worms will make short work of kitchen scraps, turning them into nutritious fertiliser for your garden Making a Wormery If the waste is not being eaten, feeding should be stopped for a few days until the worms start to work through the top layer of the composting material

The worms will eat the kitchen waste in the bottom level, and because they are surface dwellers, they will move upwards through the holes into the tray above and start to consume the kitchen waste in this level – then move upwards again, leaving behind vermicompost (worm poo) which you can use on your garden. If you put your wormery in your garage make sure you you sweep the floor first and put tarp or plastic sheet down, otherwise you'll wake up the next morning to find a handful of dessicated worms on the floor. And no, you cannot revive them by 'just add water'.
