About this deal

One thing to note here is the fact that this hedge trimmer can reach a height of nearly 3 meters (2.9m to be exact) so it is really designed for very tall hedges and you have 4 different rotating positions with the articulating head to accommodate angle trimming or horizontal trimming up high. To operate the hedge trimmer, there’s a two-stage safety trigger which you have to hold down with both hands and keep depressed, so you don’t accidentally lop your arm off while tending to your hedges. The battery doesn’t charge particularly fast, around 4 hours. However, the battery life is so good that the charge time isn’t really too much of a worry. Arguably the most important thing to think about is whether the hedge trimmer is comfortable for you to use, especially if you’re going to be holding it for a long time. The heavier the hedge trimmer, the greater the importance of a good quality shoulder strap. This will allow the weight of the hedge trimmer to be evenly distributed across your body. It produces good results whether used as a hedge trimmer or pole saw. The cutting speed is 8 m/s and it achieves a clean finish every time. I was very impressed with the performance of this model.

With a reach of 2.44m, it should be possible to hedges and bushes clear of new growth without unsafe ladders or precarious balancing acts! VonHaus has included some key safety features in the design of this hedge trimmer too, which, again, makes it suitable for both novices and professionals. Don't let tangled cords or stubborn hedges dictate the state of your garden. With our range of grass and hedge trimmers, you're in control. Say goodbye to the frustration of traditional tools and hello to efficient, cordless solutions that make trimming a joy. Some tools come with ‘fast charge’ chargers, which will usually get the battery charged in around one hour. These are worth looking out for, or buying separately, if it’s important to you. Trimming Angles All in all, this hedge trimmer offers fantastic value for money. It comes with a battery and charger, along with a two-year warranty, although, in my opinion, the quality of this product is high enough that I don’t foresee the warranty being needed!

For many people, one of the most important design features of a pole hedge trimmer is its reach. This one extends out to 244cm – it’s not the shortest of the hedge trimmers that I tested, but it definitely wasn’t the longest either. That said, the reach that VonHaus has chosen seems to fit this machine pretty well – it didn’t feel unbalanced or top-heavy like some of the others that I reviewed, which means that holding and using the machine is pretty comfortable . The telescopic trimmer is a double-blade-action cutting powerhouse, with a blade cutting length of 450mm and a cutting capacity of 20mm. It’s a cordless model, which means you’ve got freedom to move to the far end of your garden without being restricted by a cable. It runs with a 40 V battery as opposed to many others which take an 18 V or 20 V battery. You can clearly feel the difference in power, as this model is just as powerful as trimmers powered by mains electricity. After testing it out for several hours, using a range of ‘targets’ both in my garden and on a friend’s farm, it’s precisely what I’d expect from a brand like Bosch. I was excited to get my hands on this Greenworks G40PSHK2 Cordless 2-in-1 Pole Hedge Trimmer , and I did have high expectations. It works as both a pole saw and telescopic hedge trimmer, so you should be able to neaten up most of your garden with just the one tool!

With normal use and proper care an maintenance, most hedge trimmer blades will last for several years. As the weather starts to warm up, the garden is doing its part by bursting into life. So what better time to trial the the VonHaus Cordless Hedge Trimmer! I can’t really take the credit for the way the garden looks at the moment – that’s VIP’s forte and he has done me proud with his Mediterranean garden, garden wall attempt, English Country garden patch, pub area and now he has plans for a Japanese garden area. By nature, pole trimmers which extend to longer lengths have the potential to be slightly more unwieldy as you need to control something that is further away from you. One further thing to consider when buying a telescopic hedge trimmer is how small it compacts down. Most telescopic trimmers, even when not extended, can still be quite long (somewhere in the region of 170 cm).

The ultimate 2-in-1 solution: Grass and hedge trimmers

Choose a battery-powered pole hedge trimmer for convenience – there’s no cable and you can go anywhere in the garden. Most battery-powered trimmers have sufficient power to handle standard garden hedges. Look for a battery life of at least 30 minutes. The quality of the cut and the action on the blades is excellent and will not let you down. You also have the dual safety switch, hand guard, electronic brake for your own safety along with the blade tip protector and shoulder strap for additional support. Another factor that can limit you, as well as the weight of your hedge trimmer, is the battery life. While cordless hedge trimmers offer a lot of benefits, it’s important that the battery life is adequate for your needs. If you’re not yet familiar with Greenworks, chances are that you soon will be. This brand has been making a name for itself thanks to its focus on creating green alternatives to petrol-powered garden tools, with one such product being the Greenworks Cordless Pruner and Long Reach Hedge Trimmer. Tired of battling with cords that seem to have a mind of their own? Don’t worry, we have the solution: a strimmer. Our cordless grass trimmers give you the freedom to move around your garden without the hassle of tangled wires. No more tripping over cords or limited range – just pure, uninterrupted trimming power to get your garden in shape. Master the art of precise trimming with our grass trimmers

Your garden is your canvas – now, let's create a masterpiece. Explore our collection and get ready to transform your garden, one trim at a time. This is something which is worth looking out for, and a model with 4 – 5 different angle positions will normally be enough to facilitate the majority of jobs. Long reach hedge trimmers can be on the heavy side. These robust tools are designed for power and durability, so shouldn’t be flimsy. This enables you to roam you around the garden without any restrictions. You must remember to charge the battery before you get to work, but once that’s done you are ready to go.Similarly to the Ryobi hedge trimmer, this Bosch Pole Hedge Trimmer has a battery that is interchangeable amongst other POWER FOR ALL products. What sets it apart from Ryobi, however, is that the POWER FOR ALL battery system isn’t exclusive to Bosch. You can power a whole host of great tool brands, all with just the one battery type. This can make them less versatile, especially if you have a large garden. Extension cables may have to be used, depending on the length of the cord provided. These more advanced batteries are rechargeable and have a high-power density, they tend to have a long life-span too. hours may not sound like much but you’re unlikely to need to use your trimmer for more than 30-60 minutes at a time. It’s likely you won’t reach 50 hours usage for at least 1-2 years! This may make them harder to use for more ‘everyday’ hedge trimming, when the extension isn’t required. So, either look for a manageable ‘un-extended’ length, or consider having a separate trimmer for close-range jobs. Battery Life
