About this deal

Be kind, encouraging, and gentle with yourself. Remember, you deserve the same kindness you would show others! One way to use the power of vibration is by using affirmations. An affirmation is a statement that you repeat over and over again, with the intention of manifesting a desired outcome. By saying an affirmation with conviction and feeling, you are sending a powerful message to the universe that you want this thing to happen. Vibrating higher daily is about making intentional day-to-day choices that lift us out of mindsets, habits, and lifestyles that don't serve us and into ones that do. This book is an invitation to engage with everything that feeds our soul and raises our vibration, and to simultaneously let go of the things bringing our energy down. Through poetry, mantras, and affirmations, Lalah Delia empowers us to live with higher potential and quality of being. This is not a rallying cry for real hip hop, or a guidebook on how to be more conscious in the way you live. This is not a manifesto handed down from the tops of mountains. This is simply me, in all my glory, pain, splendor, and shame. This is about the people and the events that shaped me. The stories about the places that raised me in equal measure with my parents. This is the revelation I have been running towards since I first put a 16 bar verse together. Writing this book has shown me what I've always known but was either too scared or too proud to share anywhere outside of the box that is a hip hop song.

Kweli's biography is an engaging account of growing up in New York City in the 80s and 90s and the struggles of a young man to experience early success, establish a career, and take care of his family. Overall, Kweli does an excellent job avoiding the pitfalls of less interesting memoirs. He is confident, but does not come across as arrogant, smart, but not condescending, insightful, but not arcane, and gracious of his friends and family without dwelling on or being spiteful of petty slights. Kweli recognizes and reflects on his own immaturity and mistakes in a way that many adults never take the chance to do, even for their own sake. In short, Kweli accomplishes the difficult task of humanizing not only himself, but all the people that influenced him along the way, from the friends who got caught up in gangs and died to his parents who set aside their differences to help Kweli find his own identity after struggling in high school and college despite his great academic potential. When you focus your thoughts and energy on something, you are setting in motion the power of intention. This is the process of manifesting your desires into reality. The more focused and clear your thoughts, the more likely you are to achieve your goal. The law of vibration governs how we attract what we want into our lives. Everything in the universe is vibrating at different frequencies. We attract things to us based on the frequency of our thoughts and emotions. When we are focused on what we want, we send out a positive vibration that attracts similar things to us. I hate to give it a poor rating, I really do. But I didn't like this book, for several reasons. I felt it was repetitive in many ways. I also feel it didn't teach anything that we didn't already know. It kept saying vibrate higher, but didn't offer any real suggestions that are not common knowledge: eat healthier, remove toxic people/relationships from your life, surround yourself with good people, rest, do things that make you happy. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything special to separate this book from the other self-help/self-improvement books I've read in my life. I rated it 3 stars, but honestly, it was more of a 1-2 for me. I had to force myself to power through it after weeks of reading just a little here and there because I was bored. There are a few things you can do to help stay in a high vibration. The first is to keep your thoughts positive. When you think positive thoughts, you raise your vibration. Before Talib Kweli became a world-renowned hip-hop artist, he was a Brooklyn kid who liked to cut class, spit rhymes, and wander the streets of Greenwich Village with a motley crew of artists, rappers, and DJs who found hip-hop more inspiring than their textbooks (much to the chagrin of the educator parents who had given their son an Afrocentric name in hope of securing for him a more traditional sense of pride and purpose). Kweli’s was the first generation to grow up with hip-hop as established culture—a genre of music that has expanded to include its own pantheon of heroes, rich history and politics, and distinct worldview. While you are at it, be sure your home and work environments reflect beauty, passion, and enthusiasm for life. The right lighting can have a significant impact on your productivity and your mood. Hang art that inspires you. Use colors that calm and rejuvenate you. Reduce clutter and create more space for clarity. Your surroundings have a big effect on how you feel on the inside and live your life. When I learned Talib Kweli was writing his memoir I expected to get a deep look into the life of the man that gave us, 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙐𝙥 𝙀𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣 and 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 (𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴). I wanted to learn more about the artist that is still in heavy rotation on my playlist, and one half of 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫. And although I did learn more about Talib the man, I learned even more about Talib the artist. Vibrate Higher gives us an inside look into the culture of rap music and how Talib found and solidified his place in it, only to emerge as one of the most lyrically gifted MCs in the game. In this book, Talib’s life story is the dessert, it is the story of rap music that is the main course. Hence the title, Vibrate Higher: A͟ ͟R͟a͟p͟ ͟S͟t͟o͟r͟y😉. Foods carry either a high or low vibration. As magnetic beings, we take on the energy and vibration of what we put into our bodies. By consuming healing foods and plant medicine versus foods that overstimulate your stress response and nervous system (such as caffeine, chemically processed foods, junk foods, and white sugar), you are raising the frequency of your body. 06 Mind-Care You may crave a deeper relationship with your blood family. You may desire to resolve unresolved issues from the past with peace and love. You may also find that your furry animals become your best friends. You may even crave spending more and more time with them. Meditation is a proven method for raising our vibration and shifting our consciousness. A calm mind is a powerful mind; it helps you better navigate what you experience and go through. I have guided meditations on the Insight Timer app to support your daily practice. The more consistently you meditate and reach a state of inner calm, the better the results and benefits you will incur and sustain. 07 Vibrational-Awareness
