I think this one could be my favorite from them. At least till so far. It was sweet, hot and swoony! Such a dumb 'twist' - it ruined the entire story. I can see something like that lasting for weeks or months, not years. Especially with family, and especially if they're actually this in love. My 2nd admission is that I skipped through 3 stories, maybe 4? because out of 30 at least 75% of them were about the same exact thing... "I love my best friend but I'm afraid to tell them or they're about to get married" blah blah blah. There was a point I almost DNF the entire thing. Ilsa Madden-Mills is one of the authors participating in it and hers was the first story I read. Sincerely, Dane is a new short story with Dane and Piper, supporting characters from Madden-Mills’s much loved Dear Ava, which was published in February of 2020. You don’t necessarily need to read the aforementioned full-length novel, but I am happily, seriously, unequivocally recommending you do, as time permits.

More the first few chapters of a book rather than a short story, it feels unfinished. A teaser for another book is not really what you expect while reading an anthology, so while this is a good start to another book, it doesn't fit in this collection. I did a lot of rereading sentences to figure out what they were supposed to say. Many of these short stories feel like rough first drafts, and most of the others are excerpts from existing stories that either make you want to read those books (rare) or make you glad you don't have to read more. There are a few standouts, but overall I wasn't impressed with this anthology. I read One More Step as part of my CoHo readathon, but all it's convinced me to do is to skip Two More Days. When Fire Strikes | Marni Mann (first responder romance) - short story following Terry (first responder) and Rose (Alix's friend from When Ashes Fall); too romantic and insta-lovey Kismet or carpe diem, this was so sweet. The perfect length for this ' take control of your life and live it' story.But one thing they do have in common is that they’re both drawn to sad things. Which means they’re drawn to each other. SOMETHING LIKE KISMET BY GINGER SCOTT➯ 1 STAR. I feel terrible giving something only one star when it was done for charity...but this was just plain awful. These characters were supposed to be seniors in high school and they acted like twelve-year-olds. Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to lovewith that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory. There is second guessing when past collides with present and I loved Shyloh and Jake's relationship. It's strong and never-ending even as years pass and it made me so warm inside. I loved it and would love more to their story. the kiss : i thought his playboy pact was stupid but i liked leo. a first in my journey through this anthology. not planning to read their full story tho, coz i just know itd ruin my view of him. a short novella with glimpses of him is perfect The narrator is 29 year old Jessica (1st person POV). She is hoping/expecting to get engaged. The other two characters are her boyfriend Chase (a fitness instructor). And her neighbor/co-worker Jay.If I actually lived through something, I could probably make it more realistic when I put it into words on paper.
