AFTER ONE LOOK yeah lmao my man down bad 😭🙏 The last 12% of the book definitely wasn’t as intolerable as the first 88%, but that unfortunately wasn’t enough to save it for me. She's the object of his darkest desires, the only puzzle he can't solve. And when the opportunity to get closer to her arises, he breaks his own rules to offer her a deal she can't refuse. Every monster has its weakness. She's his. His obsession. His addiction. His only exception. the reason why i loved stella so much is that i saw so much of myself in her 😭😭 she's an extroverted introvert (like me), someone who is able to enjoy being active and social - hence why she is a successful influencer but also prefers the comfort of her own company and space.

May have been the shortest book in the series, but it was a good one.

I wish there was more variety (?) when it comes to the personalities of the guys. Everyone except for Josh (and Rhys sometimes) was a “tough and broody” guy. They were all really dominant and possessive (personally i don’t like possessive guys,but if that rows your boat, this is a good series for that). Josh Chen is a handsome and confident man on his way to becoming a successful doctor. He has always been able to charm women, except for Jules Ambrose. Jules, a beautiful redhead, has constantly annoyed him since they first met, but she also occupies his thoughts like no other woman.

The first half of the book was amazing. Loved it. It had everything I wanted; broody and grey mmc, passionate and cute fmc and there were the small moments. I have so many highlights in the first half it’s ridiculous. I really thought it was going to be a solid 5 stars( I even called it to my sister) Stoic, broody and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: protect his clients at all costs and do not become emotionally involved. Ever. There were so many small parts of the book that I noticed and just really hated. Like christian telling Stella he doesn’t want any men looking at her, or touching her. And if they do, Christian will kill them. And Christian wants to be able to touch Stella, and if he can’t; then he will die. Those are his exact words. So, I don’t know if that was meant to be attractive or romantic, but honestly— it just sounded like manipulation, possessiveness, and obsession to me. This book is incredibly slow burn but the angst is so well-written. Ana also surprises readers with cameo scenes. This is also the steamiest romance book in the series.
