What did they swab for/ what did they look at? We they culturing bacteria on agar plates or looking for mites on a microscope slide? Don't assume pollen would show up, it is much much smaller than a mite and won't grow on an agar plate. Anyway just the presence of pollen doesn't prove it is causing a problem.
