I will certainly be reading more Paige Toon novels, I was pleasantly surprised at the exceptional issues covered and her characters are real life people you really enjoy following throughout the story. Both characters have led lives that would set them apart from others, both are hurt, living with scars from traumas that are very different. Hannah and Sonny are struggling with their own secrets but feel so drawn to one another. The blossoming friendship is a joy to behold. I love that Paige doesn't shy away from things, takes something so unique and creates a beautiful story that is empathetic yet enjoyable. She writes with such delicate care and consideration. I really enjoyed seeing just how close Hannah and Sonny could become while still maintaining there was nothing between them! It is just a heart warming story that I found a joy to read. I have never read a Paige Toon book before, but I read the blurb of this one and I loved it and am really glad I read this book, I did find it a bit slow at the beginning but that was all about getting to know Sonny and Hannah, there was such a blast of connection when they first meet that maybe a relationship might happen, it is sure to go smoothly, but love very rarely does and this journey was filled with heart wrenching situations and events that have happened to both Hannah and Sonny in the past and for a future they need to overcome these.

If I had a spare 5 minutes of listening time then I took it, I hated having to put it down and step away from Hannah and Sonny.

It was a pleasure to read a romance that was clean and didn’t involve adult scenes and I especially liked, that the story covered a budding relationship without the physical side. Hannah and Sonny both don’t do relationships, they prefer no strings attached, as gifting people more than a night forces them to be vulnerable and share a part of themselves they aren’t ready and don’t want to give. But when they both encounter each other, it is instant attraction, flirtation and flaming chemistry, but their lust develops into a slow burning love.
