About this deal

This model is also fitted with the beard density sensor that Panasonic uses on all their newer razors. And this was by far the most surprising thing about the ES-LL41-K during my tests. Precisely, it was among the most comfortable Panasonic razors I’ve ever used. Now that you’ve hopefully decided which electric shaver would be more suitable for your needs and budget, it’s time to put it to good use. In fact, thoroughly cleaning an Arc 4 with water and liquid soap literally takes less than one minute.

For the Arc 4, particularly the ES-LA93-K, this is a non-issue and there are no restrictions to how you use the station. After reading your blog I tried to figure out what electric razor would be the most suitable for me. I think the series 9 from Braun would be the right choice. Do you agree? Further, I wasn’t shure wheter you tried/used it with shaving foam/soap. If yes, what can you say about the shaving results (closeness/confort)? Thank you in advance for your advice! I find the Panasonic to be a bit faster as well, regardless if you’re using the trimmer with or without any combs. It will make a more noticeable difference if you have a coarser beard as I found the closeness on the chin and below the nose to be even better when I used the razor with shaving cream. Panasonic shavers work particularly well with shaving cream, so if you’re into that definitely consider an Arc 3.For more details, you can read a comprehensive comparison between all the different Series 9 variations here. As mentioned earlier, the battery level indicator on this model is almost useless in telling you how much charge you got left. There’s only a low battery icon that lights up when you have only around 10 minutes worth of shaving left.

Charging it from 0 to 100% takes a bit less than an hour, again in line with most of today’s shavers. So I think this is where the Panasonic ES-LL41-K really stands out, being quite affordable and practical compared to the alternatives. I particularly like the ES-LA63-S with its gunmetal finish and the contrasting blue text on the LCD screen. This will eventually lead to more pressure being applied and will force you to do excessive passes, increasing the risk of razor burn and irritation.

Overall Take

This is a downside of the extreme closeness of the Arc 4. You can get reduce the discomfort by always lubricating the blades and by using shaving cream, but out of the box, the Series 7 is the winner. Automatic and manual cleaning Getting the basics right is key to getting the most out of your shaver, especially if you’re dealing with post-shave rashes, razor bumps or ingrown hairs. In fact, most of them come with one and there are just a few models that don’t have the station and those generally cost less (the so-called solo models). So if you plan on shaving less often, like every two days or more, the Series 7 will likely perform better. Comfort Moreover, some rotary razors, especially the older Philips with Lift&Cut blades, have a tendency to pull and yank the hairs when you’re a bit sloppy and can also cause some stinging and discomfort.
