About this deal

How happy you are with this mouse really depends on how big your hands are and what you’re already used to in terms of mice. So, you’re already using a larger mouse and you’re used to having your hand arch like that in a comfortable position, then MX Anywhere 2 mouse is not going to do a really good job. It’s probably going to make you uncomfortable after a while of use. For shorter travel trips, so if you’re just using this when you’re traveling for a business trip or if you don’t travel too frequently, then it’s going to be probably just enough but for a daily driver for people with large hands who are used to a large mouse, then it’s not going to be ideal. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S The highlight of this mouse is indeed the software. Through this, you can customize each of the buttons on the mouse to do a different function. The gesture button, for example, can be assigned to perform a change in the pointer speed or even opening a specific app. The MX Master’s telepathic auto-switching scroll wheel is something I sorely miss on my G502 daily driver, and the thumb wheel is something I find myself pining for, as well. Though I didn’t have time to fully test either mouse’s battery life, that’s a compliment: owners shouldn’t have to charge either mouse’s battery often. Both mice worked perfectly on a variety of surfaces, and Logitech’s Options software is well-polished and easy to use, even with multiple mice linked to the same computer. The gesture button is a nice idea in theory, but holding down the button and moving the mouse doesn’t always trigger the desired action. I sometimes brought up the Alt+Tab switcher when I meant to do something else, apparently because the mouse or software didn’t sense my movement. Maximizing and restoring windows by moving the mouse up was an especially hit-or-miss gesture for some reason. Mac gestures like desktop switching also didn’t work reliably. I’m not sure why this is, but it’s an idea that needs refinement. Note: This could potentially be attributed to the hard drive in question being full and well over a decade old.)

With limited DPI adjustments, and no profile or macro support, the MX Master and MX Anywhere 2 don’t seem to have much gaming DNA at first glance. Even so, people will doubtless want to use these mice for play as well as work, so I fired up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive‘s weapons course and ran through its timed challenge a few dozen times to get a feel for these mice’s gaming prowess. I also brought in two dedicated gaming mice—Logitech’s own G502 Proteus Core and EVGA’s Torq X5—for comparison purposes. As with my EVGA Torq review, I turned off any software acceleration settings that I could find, so my results are as much a reflection of the mice’s hardware as I can possibly make it. Installation of Logitech Options transforms the middle button into a gesture button you can use to trigger gestures that simplify desktop and application management, media control, document viewing, and personalization of common tasks. However over the last year or so, Logitech have dropped the price to the same as the Anywhere 2, so they can usually be found within a similar price range to each other. Now, one thing I want to mention for Mac users is when you install the Logitech software, you’re gonna want to give it accessibility permissions. Otherwise, the scrolling is going to stop working and it might take you a little bit to figure out why that’s happened, it’s because you haven’t given it accessibility permissions but it’s pretty simple. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Now, another interesting feature that I know you’ll all love is the Logitech flow which allows you to effortlessly navigate across up to three computers and copy and paste images and files between them. The mouse uses the darkfield laser sensor which costs it to flawlessly work on different surfaces, even transparent glass. The DPI is set up to a maximum of 4000 which means greater precision and sensitivity during normal use. Connect one end of the provided charging cable to the Micro-USB port on the mouse and the other end to a USB power source.

The main difference between the Anywhere 2 and the MX Anywhere 2s is that the 2s has a longer battery life and the ability to adjust it to a higher sensitivity too. This means that if you’re planning to use the mouse for gaming, then the 2S is going to be the better option. With the MX Anywhere 2, I can conveniently connect the mouse to multiple portable devices without having to re-pair frequently. It is a perfect companion to the multi-device K480 or K810 Bluetooth keyboards. The Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse sells for… When you’re looking for a portable mouse that you can take with you wherever you go, then you’ll need to find something durable and long-lasting. The Logitech MX Anywhere range has been filling that gap quite comfortably for a while now, with the MX Anywhere 2 being a pretty popular choice. The Anywhere 2 can only be adjusted to 1600 DPI maximum, whereas the 2s can go up to 4000 DPI. Plus, the 2S has an estimated 70 days of battery life, whereas the 2 can only managed 60 days, so it’s around 15% better in this regard. NOTE: If the light blinks rapidly when you first select it, it’s ready to connect. If so, go to step 4. Otherwise, continue to step 3.

The figure below shows gesture sets available for managing windows in Windows (7, 8, or later) and Mac OS X (10.8 or later). NOTE: The MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse uses Bluetooth Smart technology and is not compatible with Windows 7 computers that do not support Bluetooth Smart.
