There are two very large loose plastic buttons at the bottom of this wheel. One is a start button and the second being a radio button. One or both of these could have easily been replaced with a rotary encoder like the one found on the cheaper Logitech G923. The main difference is that this smaller R5 wheel base creates 5.5Nm of torque. That is a bit of a step down from the 9Nm found in the R9. And it is safe to say you can feel the difference. The one big thing missing from the front of this wheel is any form of rotary dial. It is always good to have a rotary encoder of some kind, even just one as not only does it allow for a different form of input in game. It also raises the quality and aesthetic of the whole wheel. Also, it’s important to say that every part of this bundle can be used individually if required. The pedals can connect to your PC independently of the wheel base. Meaning you can opt to use different pedals or a different wheel base. One large difference between the existing MOZA range and the R5 bundle is that, rather than pedals requiring a separate USB input to your PC, the SRP Lites plug directly into the base via CAT 5 cable. This simplifies it all down to just one USB connection rather than two. Every sim racing company has a wheel just like this. We mounted the R5 to both the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 and the Trak Racer FS3. The R5 could be mounted using all four threads thanks to its mounting plate, whereas the Wheel Stand 2.0 only lined up with two. With only 5.5Nm of torque being exerted, provided you’ve screwed things in properly, two screws aren’t the end of the world. You’ll be fine. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I have a sneaky suspicion that this may well be announced at a later date. The dials and buttons all have a premium feel. I was surprised at how good the LED-lit buttons look, and it's extremely easy to customize the color layout (MOZA isn't great and providing this info, so you may need to look for a YT video). There are more functions than I need for most cars (especially with the 5 dials), but it's really nice to have extra buttons for things like chat functions. And the button placement is very convenient for use while driving.
