It’s inexpensive, crowd pleasing, and well balanced spice so it’s not overwhelming. I think this has at least pretty decent performance. I wore it once and it still had a light to moderate projection after three hours, but I showered to get rid of the smell because it was so unpleasant. I wore it just on my hand another day and it lasted there for about 6 hours with light projection from one spray.
I took it home that evening and tried it. Wow, this was NICE. This was when I found out I liked tea scents, and a bit of pepper, and jasmine... But the pepper didnt itch my nose. Maybe the rose took the edge off? This was was more sophisticated. Sometimes I wore this one to work (even though I wasn't supposed to) and it survived every declutter, a move, a marriage, a child... Overall I would recommend this scent! I wish I could describe it better but all I can think is sexy musky uniqueness. For the price too I think this is a little hidden gem. Musk is definitely the dominant base note. The vanilla is mild - I wouldn't call this a particularly sweet scent, and the amber creates a warmth - or "glow". 😅 I had a feeling this was going to be a fail for me, so I didn't buy it for the longest time. One day my curiosity got the better of me and I bought it, thankfully for a decent price. What a mistake! I am rarely proven wrong when I don't think I am going to like a fragrance. fresh linen, a silk blouse, minimally arranged white flowers in crystal clear water in a sleek glass vase. cooled tea and fresh air. It could suit many occasions and settings, office safe, can be worn casually or dressed up, and would serve as an excellent bedtime scent. A safe blind buy at a good price point.
The reformulation has not done it any favours, + the longevity has suffered. This is a copy of 'China Rain' - which is ofc, an oil - & the oil keeps the notes 'rounded' & quite beautiful - it's better quality & is a lovely, fresh, clean, kind-of soapy, but not laundry detergent - as you find in Glow; Glow is v detergent-y, in the opening, espc, now - you don't need me to describe the notes; so many ppl hv done so already, but, in it's fullest, Glow is now mainly, sweet grapefruit/a quite synthetic & rough orange blossom, with a more prominent rose - surprisingly powdery - gives me original Anais Anais vibes actually - & ofc, both J Lo & Jennifer Aniston were fans of that, too - when I was tiny, Anais Anais was popular, but later, I tried it & couldn't wear it - ditto this. Tbh - now - it's pretty awful, throughout, & even in the original early 2000's bottle - it was plastic-ky - but after the mess of the opening, it did used to settle down - & if it suited your chemistry it could be quite pleasant but.. it's not good now at all.D'Angelo, Joe (December 19, 2002). It's been a few hours and I can still smell it on the shirt. The interesting thing about this perfume is that it doesn't seem to develop or evolve at all. What you smell when you initially spray the perfume is what you'll have for the rest of the day. I found that to be a little disappointing. At least it didn't evolve into a urine smell the way it did when I initially got it though, which may be due to warmer weather.

I didn’t have high expectations to be honest as I’m not usually a fan of celebrity fragrances however this past month I’ve been pleasantly surprised by both Still and Born Lovely by SJP. I find these 2 fragrances very similar.

To my nose, it smells like a resort, refreshing and calming, in the same branch as shiseido zen, it’s mission to evoke calm and serenity in the wearer. It may sound funny, but I use it as a toilet air-freshener and makes me feel like I am walking into a spa when I go in there. Well. You get what you pay for . This absolutely does not smell how I remember. I should have taken heed of those who said this smelled of super glue, and is synthetic from top to bottom. It is not good. It really is cheap, cheap, cheap in every sense of the word. I have not moved this to hate though and left it in dislike because strangely the shower gel and lotion aren’t too bad. They don’t really even smell like Glow, but they also don’t smell synthetic really and are pleasant enough. So there’s that. I first came across JLo’s Glow nearly a decade ago in my sister’s closet. It was a gift from her best friend (who, ahem, is now my husband) and all I remember thinking was “I don’t like this” as I smelled it on the bottle. I never tried spraying it. I was told it was a tropical smelling fragrance and perfect for warm summer weather. So I went for it. I love anything tropical. I categorize tropical with fresh fruits mixed with florals — tiare, plumeria (Frangipani) or jasmine.
