About this deal

Livigno is a duty free resort which means your usual cheap airport stuff but be warned the only cheap thing to buy is food & booze ie spirits.all the rest ie parfumes and fags seem to be no cheaper than the airport. Livigno Ski Area is ideal for disabled skiers too: discover facilities, equipment and services reserved to ski sitting.

The mass-media sector is quite developed as well. In the 1980s a local radio, Radio Alteuropa, used to broadcast from Livigno, covering up to a wide part of the neighbouring Valtellina valley. The local monthly newspaper, Al Restel, [7] was founded in the same period and it is still published today. In the evening the main street in Livigno fills with people. Beautiful mountain-style townhouses offer restaurants, cafes serving delicious Italian coffee and desserts and, of course, countless pizzerias. It's certainly not difficult to make up for calories lost on the slope. Those arriving from other parts of Switzerland can use the A3 main road via St Moritz or the Vereina tunnel car-rail connection from Davos to access Zernez. But for the medtech sector, many believe the Livongo acquisition is one of the biggest the industry has seen in terms of relevance. Our simple, easy-to-understand charts and summaries provide you with all the information you need to make the right choices to improve your health. Nowadays, most of information is given by a TV channel, TeleMonteNeve, [8] which broadcasts the city council's meetings, a news report three times a week and other information both for residents and for tourists. On-line new media is also growing. An example is Senzaiva, an on-line cultural magazine. Its name means "without VAT", referring to the special duty-free status of Livigno and of all cultural products. [9] The Town Hall sign in the local dialect

Despite the resort's duty-free status, prices in the local bars and restaurants are not noticeably cheaper than in any other Italian resorts - but that still makes them considerably cheaper than France or Switzerland. Livigno is renowned for having a lively après ski scene, although it's really the later nightlife that's liveliest. The actual close-of-lifts après ski is mostly confined to a handful of animated bars by the base terminals of the main lifts. Amongst the liveliest of these are is the Stalet on the Carosello side. The Ice [umbrella] Bar at the Hotel Concordia, on the central base-area slopes, is also popular for its Austrian-style après ski party atmosphere. On top of both the moutains are some really excellent runs which beginners are able to ski once you've got some of your basic's. Politically, Livigno has always followed Bormio's history, although the relationships between the two communes have always been tense, Bormio being dominant and more populous than Livigno.

Even on the ski slopes there are rules to follow. Get all the skier rules, snow reports and what to do in case of emergency.

The main ski school meeting points and beginners' slopes are on the western side, mostly around the central San Antonio quarter; further novice slopes are located in the southernmost San Rocco quarter, close to the base terminal of the access gondola for the Carosello 3000 ski sector; the Santa Maria quarter at the northern end of the resort also has a cluster of easy slopes and ski lifts, including gondola access to the linked Costaccia ski sector. And when the snow melts? Livigno turns green: an amazing natural paradise, a valley full of activities and wonders to discover. Livigno is a duty-free area which makes it a paradise for shopaholics. Interestingly, it was Napoleon who set Livigno a duty-free town in 1805! The quality of the snow was excellent. There was enough length of runs to keep my family amused but at the same time don’t compare this resort to the likes of Tignes / Val D Isere etc! If our children had been any younger (8 & 10) and less good skiers then catching the bus with skis etc would be quite challenging. They didn’t have lessons this time but I saw many taking place and really liked that the ski schools have a maximum of 8 children per instructor (unlike in France where is can be up to 14 per group).

The airport is located about 230 km from Livigno. Travelling from the airport to the mountain resort by car takes about three and a half hours. The altitude of Livigno itself is just over 1800 metres and the skiing rises to just under 2800 metres, making the ski resort an attractive destination for powder skiers with its snow-sure reputation . There are lots of fantastic shops offering perfumes, alcohol and brand clothes from famous Italian fashion houses - all available at a lower cost than in your own country. The larger Carosello ski area is on the other side of the valley. The skiing here tends to be closer to the accommodation in the various parts of Livigno, which means that the nursery slopes on this side are probably easier to access for beginner skiers. Shoppers can take advantage along the traffic free streets in the centre of the resort as not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, the resort interestingly since the 16 th century and to this day holds a duty free status, meaning your money goes much further. Here you will also find a great selection of cafes, restaurants as well as a huge range of non-ski related activities from fat biking to husky sledding, plenty to keep you busy each day.

The Mottolino ski area is on the eastern side of the valley and the easiest access is via the Mottolino gondola near the Teola section of Livigno. The top station is the start of a long red run from the mountain down to the valley station or, alternatively, skiers can head over the top and down to the quiet hamlets of Trepalle or Passo d’Eira. months to evaluate weight maintenance, prevent weight gain and keep focus on diet and physical activity. For most weight-loss medications, doctors recommend ongoing use if the medication is helping you lose weight. If you stop taking a medication that’s working, you can expect to regain the weight. I would suggest finding your accommodation not directly facing the Main Street as even though traffic is pretty light it certainly affected the quality of sleep. It didn’t help that we were on the ground floor so had to also put up with loud probably drunk revellers returning from a night out. I could talk about this place all day and there's loads more but all in all if your a beginner this is a fantastic resort i suggest you go.The Zuelli run is another top-to-bottom piste, this time for more advanced skiers, starting at the top of the Blesaccia chairlift. At the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, no less than eight Italian athletes came from Livigno. It will be used for snowboarding and freestyle skiing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. Off the slopes, Livigno ski resort has a modest nightlife and a great choice of restaurants. In addition, there’s the fantastic Aquagranda which offers a swimming pool, gym and beauty centre. You can also book great activities such as snowmobiling, dog-sledding and ice-skating. Livigno town is actually one main street from which forks off many transverse streets. The biggest advantage of Livigno is the closeness of ski slopes - there are many ski-in/ski-out hotels.
