All the Lost Souls’ is a bit of a mixed bag. Blunt is no doubt a talented songwriter and can pen some catchy tunes. His voice, often considered an acquired taste, works well with the music he writes, and certainly gives his output a unique vibe. And he’s certainly not afraid to put thoughts to paper with his lyrics. But there’s just an overbearing dreariness to this release that makes it hard for me to get into.
