About this deal

There are two main types of cutter on this list Flat Edge and Dual Cut. On flat-edge cutters, one side of the cutters is flat. instead of cutting the plastic this edge acts as a stop allowing the other side to cut from only 1 direction. dia-cut is where both sides have a cutting edge and cut the plastic to meet in the middle. In my experience, wither of these really offer a better cut as both leave a bit of residue on the model. However, the flat-edge cutters do seem to last longer as you aren’t having 2 blades cut into each other. The blade is thinner toward the tip and is more likely to break. Please cut as close to the center of the blade as possible. Tamiya are a leading brand when it comes down to modeling. Scale Plastic or RC. They produce tools and some of them are the best. This set of nippers are called Sharp pointed Side cutters. Side means that they are meant to cut flat on one of their sides, which is the end towards the plastic part. They guarantee clean cut, and of course can be combined with something cheaper, just in case you want to save them from the extra tension. Number 4: Never cut pieces that exceed the cutting capacity above or non-plastic materials (metal, resin, paper, etc ...) Shave & Cut” structure allows a smooth cut surface as if it is cut off by a design knife and it minimizes plastic whitening.

I cannot comment much on the set, because I haven’t used the nippers from it and it would be inappropriate if I label it in this list. However, people that used this swear by it. On the other side they are fans of MENG Models and that might be slightly misleading. The truth is, that the set is very affordable and probably comparable with Trumpeter’s nippers mentioned above. MENG are releasing airbrushes, thin glues and what not nowadays, so one can tell they are aiming high. Probably they won’t embarrass themselves with lousy product, so I am inclined to trust this set. Nippers seems precise enough and with that price, it won’t hurt to give them a chance. Conclusion: They are however the most stylish and if having an attractive toolkit is important then these look great on your worktop next to all the other Citadel tools. God-hand a cut above the rest (no I won’t apologise for that). if you just wanted to know which are the best cutters, these are them. We're not just making that up - Pete, James and Foxx have sworn by them for years and we are ridiculously excited to be able to bring them to you now. They truly are tools that are at home whether they are in the hands of a beginner or a professional. These are not mass-produced throwaway tools; they are tools designed by and for master craftsmen that will enable you to create incredible art.Ultimate Ultra-Thin Single-Edge! Ultimate Sharpness! When trying to slice-cut a 3 mm dia. runner, the blade moves in smoothly and finishes cutting without sound. When trying to slice and cut the 3mm runner, the blade will move freely and smoothly without any noise.

For those who paint plastic models, the cutting surface remains smooth and clean even if the blade is cut along the part without leaving a gate, thus shortening the time for gate processing with files or knives. From this point out we are going fully Japanese with our cutting brands. Mr Hobby is the weaker of the 3 but still trumps any of the others. Best Sprue Cutters Snips Knippers for Miniatures and Models – Mr Hobby – MT 103 Most importantly with snips of this level (compared with the Godhand), the quality of the cut is indistinguishable between them.

This set made by C.K tools is made for electronics wire cutting. C.K is a 100-year-old brand which makes incredible products. Precision engineering at it’s finest. So amazed that I decide to leave this review, and to even go the extra distance and include images to compare the two brands. The images may be grainy because they are very close images of a very small sprue, but you get the idea from them. The two with a 'T' written on them are the Tamiya snips, the three without are from the God Hands. I included head on pics as well as from the side which is better at showing how smooth the cut is. I’d go further still. this guide focuses on cutters which should be used to cut sports from your sprue. if you are cutting the frame of the sprue itself, I’d suggest some larger and probably cheaper cutters. Another set featuring a flat-edge and a bladed-edge but these have the benefit of the bladed-edge being super-fine. Like the options below this limits the stress on the plastic you are cutting For finely detailed parts, this can mean make-or-break.
