I've been on quite the Rina Kent binge lately to say the least...but I didn't think I would try this series. I've been really loving her darker adult mafia-ish stuff and this is new adult and takes place in high school. So I wasn't all that drawn to it as I just haven't been into the YA/NA stuff lately.Overall a nice end to the trilogy, I liked this book the best because there were less question marks for me and I understood it more. Maybe one day if I'm rich I will get this book. The past🥹. I loved seeing how playful and cute they were when they were young. Could there have been more of this to really see how close they were? Yeah, but I liked what was presented. Honestly, she was like a momma bear, protecting Kim from all the fat-shaming and bullying. She was so strong and resilient and even though she was getting bullied too, she tried her best to protect Kim.
So first, the writing is terrible. Seriously, I've read many a fanfictions that are written miles better than this. My god. The same points are repeated over and over. The author forces awkward descriptions into the text in a 4th grade attempt to add "context" and "detail." This may take the crown for worst writing in a book that I've read. I so enjoyed this book, and if you're looking for a good, dark, captivating bully romance, this book is highly recommended!! This was a great series. I was excited and intrigued with Aiden's story because he seems really mysterious and dangerous when I read Cruel King. He was described as a guy with sociopathic behavior but when I read this I think the term should not be psychopath/sociopathic but cold and cruel. I think describing him as a psychopath/sociopath is a bit too much given that Aiden's personality in this book is not so severely cruel, I think? I called you by your stupid last name, what else are you waiting for? Hail to the king?” fully rolling 😂😂And, Silver and Aiden faked their engagement. She was territorial about him for other reason. Can you find the similarity? It sounds a lot like The Peer and the Puppet and The Punk and the Plaything by B.B. I admit that this book was addictive and I wanted to know what actually happened and is going to happen. But i also feel this book is very similar to Fear Me by B.B. Reid . If you’re trying to make your character dark and menacing at least try to make them appear, I don’t know, convincing?? Rina Kent in an English author who’s constantly parading between France and North Africa due to her studies and her husband’s demanding job. Elsa finds herself surrounded by new and different characters in this book, which was a great surprise. I liked that a lot about the book as well as the fact that the rest of the horsemen, Kim and the Elsa’s rival Silver are returned. The relationship between Aiden and Elsa is scorchingly hot and steamy. Their passion is beautiful, all consuming, and violent at times. It’s like they can’t control themselves and can’t get enough of one another. If you are riding the wave of Bully or Dark High School Romance, you will enjoy the hell out of this book.Warning:- if you really wanna enjoy this book, you need to shut off your feminist brain, I am sorry I can't!! Elsa and I didn’t meet under the right circumstances. We just met, and then we re-met, and then we became inseparable. Then after the revelation, they immediately jump into bed together, with us finding out he's a virgin, Broken Knight anyone? I mean, I'm glad he is, but that still doesn't excuse any of his previous behavior. We don't even get groveling. Zero. Nada. Nothing. He hates her the entire book, while her weak self does hardly anything, then they find out there is no reason to hate each other, they jump into bed, then they live happy ever after pretty much. She doesn't even demand an apology really. All she says was she was really hurt and it's not gonna go away, but it sure seems like it did exactly that. The only thing I liked about her was with Ronan and letting Xander suffer seeing them together. Everyone needs a Ronan in their life👏
