Anyone here having and using the Dell UltraSharp U2419H monitor while watching a movie? On this U2419H, which color preset do you guys use to watch the movie? Which one in your opinion did you find shows rich colors and has a perfect balance of brightness, contrast, and sharpness? I tried using the Movie Color Preset which comes built into this U2419H. My take on it is though the picture appears very bright, I feel the white balance is increased in this Preset. For me, the colors appear washed out for people's skin. Colors of objects like cars, things etc. appear a little washed out! Do you guys also think so? Work perfectly with my MacBook (2019) and windows Razer Blade Stealth (2020). These can be swivelled 180 degrees to show portrait views and have sharp colour settings. The location and position of the monitor is almost as important as what model that you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes), with the top edge of the screen at eye level when you are sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust the chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. Still, we’ve included other color spaces like the famous DCI-P3 standard used by movie studios, as well as the digital UHD Rec.2020 standard. Rec.2020, however, is still a thing of the future and it’s difficult for today’s displays to cover that well. We’ve also included the so-called Michael Pointer gamut, or Pointer’s gamut, which represents the colors that naturally occur around us every day. On a more positive note, colour space coverage tests – performed with the same equipment and software but with the screen brightness set to 150 nits – gave me scores that are about the standard you should expect from a display these days. However, they are far south of the 99% and 85% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage promised: Make sure that the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is connected properly and is secure. This is normal behaviour of the monitor. Dell consumer monitors are inspected at 150 lux ambient lighting (similar to typical office lighting). Dell UltraSharp & Gaming monitors are inspected with a tighter criteria of 70 lux ambient lighting (dimly lit room but not completely dark). As we mentioned the OSD menu gives you a choice from “Standard”, “ComfortView”, “Multiscreen Match”, “Movie”, “Game”, “Color Temperature” and “Custom Color”.
Details and contrast look great, and the IPS function gives you great color saturation and accuracy at wider viewing angles; though since folks tend to sit much closer to a computer monitor than a television, viewing angles aren't that extreme to begin with. But if you're using the Dell Ultrasharp 24 as a second or even third display off to the side, you won't have to worry about having to sit just right or needing to constantly adjust the screen tilt and swivel to get the perfect picture. Strong viewing angles and respectable colour space coverage means that for basic photo work – editing holiday snaps and the like – the Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor U2419H will suffice, but it’s by no means intended for professional photo or video editing. The static contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce simultaneously, for example, within one and the same frame/scene. DCI P3 is a color space, introduced in 2007 by the SMPTE. It is used in digital cinema and has a much wider gamut than the sRGB.
